Quick background: A man I have known of for about a year and a half (never spoke to, but have followed for a while because he “appeared HV”) messaged me on Instagram two days ago once I posted on my story I was traveling to Tennessee for work. He lives in Tennessee. I know his brother very well so I’m fairly certain he knows who I am. He asked me a few questions and commented that Chattanooga (where I’m visiting for work) is pretty close to Knoxville (where he lives). Long story short, he took about 28 hours to respond to my last message (he saw it a few hours after I messaged him back) and this evening he messaged me back: “Im bad at Insta, text me _____”

Would you suggest I don’t even bother responding, because being “bad” on a social media platform he uses frequently, should be no excuse to not message me back.

Or should I respond with a “thanks but no thanks” type of message?
