Hi ladies! I'd like some advice on how to help a friend. Just to give you some background, she's the sweetest girl you'll ever meet but this also means that she gets taken advantaged of pretty often. I feel that the guy she's currently dating is holding her back in a sense that he doesn't have concrete short term or long term goals, and doesn't seem very ambitious. He's in his mid 20s and has yet to secure a proper job.

Also, he gives her the cold treatment when he's mad and doesn't seem to want to talk about it. I also feel that he doesn't respect her as a person. For example, he recently asked her to give him a BJ in public. Despite them being a secluded and dark spot, my friend felt really uncomfortable and told him no and he got mad. She explained countless times that they might get caught but he refused to listen to her explanation and became very cold towards her and told her to go home. The next day, she reached out to him again and asked if he was alright. He said yes but kept repeating the fact that he now knows both of them are not on the same page about certain issues.

And I felt he was playing mind games with her. I'm sure he knows she's worried about him being upset but he's probably playing dumb by giving her mixed signals so she'll continue worrying about him. I thought it was really disrespectful, disgusting, and petty of him. It's 2020, don't you know anything about consent? My friend was obviously pissed with his horrible attitude and some of us told her to dump him. But it seems like our advice is always falling on deaf ears.

Mind you, this isn't the first time he was nasty to her but she's staying with him because apparently she has fallen too deep into the rabbit hole and doesn't know how to get out, and she is afraid of being alone. I'm pretty certain she knows the right thing to do is to break up with him but she just can't bring herself to do it.

I've introduced her to FDS and am always preaching about all the tips I see on here but she doesn't seem to be listening. How can I get her to wake up and take charge of her life?
