Just blocked someone who I have been regularly messaging for over a month and who I thought was a really lovely guy because he did this.

All the uncertainty/anxiety/just general confusion that I was feeling disappeared instantly.

Say no to this behaviour now.

Save your time and mental energy because it's not going to get better.

Remember: just because he's lovely or a nice person when he does talk to you, it doesn't negate the other stuff.

Keep your standards high and if you hear yourself making excuses for him, take a good long hard look at yourself,

I'm pretty sure even if that was the case, the dude is probably going to reveal his true colors at some point. Probably when he gets bored of his partner and starts taking her for granted

i decided to briefly get back out there after my lv ex, and hit it off with someone unexpectedly around the new year.

a month before quarantine, i ended up wishing him well (i know, i know) but that was that--washed my hands of him because his words were inconsistent with his actions, and it seemed he dropped his facade once he realized i wasn't going to sleep with him. i'm too old to deal with inconsistency, negging, and games--and i'm over hooking up and the like.

i want straightforward honesty, and the current dating scene is all about keeping your heart guarded, analyzing situations and texts, keeping a rotation, always having to be on and know the right things to say. frankly, it's exhausting. it makes you want to never try with anyone again after the dreadful conversations, the lackluster dates and ghosting--so much ghosting! you start to believe you're the problem for not knowing how to play this awful game in order to meet someone.

i appreciate this post because it made me think of how much more we all deserve, and how much i used to put up with for the sake of being with someone.

Sadly most of guys who I’ve been seeing lately all acted like that! Idk if they all are following fucking manual or something... all the same. Their hot and cold behavior obviously made me so anxious and question my behaviour too... like is this because I did this and that.

No. Simply put, they just half-assedly liked me. When guys show that sort of behavior... just walk away and don’t waste time. You have no obligation to fix their behavior.
