If this has been discussed elsewhere please link, but wondering what are some LVM red flags in OLD profiles? Both photos and text.

I see any version of, "Don't take yourself too seriously," "I don't take life too seriously," etc. as a red flag. I take myself and my life seriously and I want someone who does the same. I also definitely feel like this is coded language for, "I want to have meaningless hookups with as many women as possible with the lowest possible energy investment and never be called out for being a fuckboy."

I also see references to sarcasm as red flags. Almost every guy with this in his bio just wants to be able to neg you constantly without being called out.

Guys who have the number of countries they've been to in their bio also tend to be LV. I love travel myself, but I don't treat the countries I've been to as collector's items. There's something off to me about listing them in that way.

Any guy with hunting pics is also an immediate left swipe, as is any guy with some generic bio that applies to every human being like, "I like food," "I like to go out but I also like to stay in," "I like to sleep" (I'm losing brain cells as I write this.)

I'm sorry to say that this rules out almost every guy on OLD haha

Not listing his job or height
Not writing much
None or 1 pics
All pics he looks drunky pants
Writing only about how he wants you to make him feel
Being all snarky (eg. “My weekend was fine, not here for a million superficial messages back and forth”)
Any mention/joke of alcoholism, bad credit, cheating, irresponsibility (obvs if he’s serious about AA that’s a whole diff thing for another post)

“Chill”, “Casual”, “Go with the flow”, “Laidback”.

Creepy sense of humour “I’m looking for someone to take care of me emotionally and financially”.

If you sense any creepiness in the profile or the way they look don’t bother. I’ve given lots of men the benefit of doubt, when I meet them in person they’re always just as creepy as their photos or profiles.

Always trust your gut.

Any bio that subtly seeks for you give affirmation or attention. And example would be “don’t judge a book by its cover, open me up and see what’s inside”. Big red flag if he’s already looking for someone to reassure him he’s handsome, when clearly he is. Anything that goes against an obvious truth looking to trigger pickme behaviors.

Military and police dudes are an immediate no. Forty percent of police officers have reports of domestic violence against them- who knows how much goes unreported. Pics with children that he doesn’t know from his vacation. No, he’s not an empathetic human or dad material. He’s a ok with neocolonialism and exploitation. Mentioning that he never thought he would have to do OLD. Like that’s original.

Pictures about partying/drinking/getting high.

Pictures in OLD are ways to tell others who you are, what kind of personality you have. Let's say there are five pictures, you choose five pictures which describes BEST who you are. If getting drunk is one of them, I say you likely are an alcoholic and I'm not interested in being anybody's support animal in fighting with that. Good bye.
