Backstory: posted something saying like what do you do when you’re holding a knife in someone’s heart. I told her to twist it. So (she laughed of course and asked me wtf) but after she explained, dude is guilting her into staying by being suicidal. I told her she still young, pretty, ambitious and smart. She better run before she get wrinkles by these fools.

so many people suffering from actual depression and being suicidal, and then there's those manipulative pricks who use suicide as a magic card to block any sort of accountability or confrontation.

I had an ex who was threatening suicide. He showed up at my high end retail job and after refusing to leave the store and beginning to cause a scene I told him that I would call the security if he didn't leave. He reluctantly left and I immediately blocked him on all socials.

A year later he asked me if I wanted to have a drink with him.

Harsh? Probably. But if someone really wants to commit suicide they would with or without you staying with them.

I had an ex pull this bs on me back in high school when I tried to dump him the first time. It messed with my mind and my feelings. Eventually I dumped him for reals and blocked him on everything. Fast forward to college. My best friend started dating his friend again (they dated before in high school) and said I should make amends with my ex so we can all hang out again and I did. Things were going great until his gf dumped him and he pulled the suicide card on me. “I can’t live in a world where I’m worthless and nobody loves me” type bs. Again. This screwed me over. The friendship ended again and I haven’t talked to him since. Bitchass is still very much alive though and he’s dating someone new like every year. 🙄🙄 do yourself a favor. Dump those who deserves to be dumped. Don’t let them control you into staying when things just didn’t feel right.

Not only this but be careful with this kind of manipulation, a 2nd degree acquaintance of mine was murdered by her ex boyfriend who (as it was discovered after this happened) had a history of domestic abuse in another state and hadn’t given any behavioral indication this girl needed to worry about her safety. He showed up at her retail job to speak to her saying he was going to kill himself if they were done, she said she’d come over and talk to him after her shift, and she was brutally murdered when she showed up. Absolutely tragic.

Stay safe and block him. Call the police or 911 if you’re truly concerned that he’s going to harm himself. Your life is not a fair trade for his ego or maniacal tendencies.
