Never date a car guy. The thing he is holding in his hand in the last pic is a turbo. They are $2k+ for just the part. Unless you want to deal with a husband who gets upset and pouts when you won’t let him spend thousands in “car mods” every year, on top of a car payment.

My first boyfriend, when I was 15, treated me lovely at the start. Gifts, compliments, sweet things. Everything a 15 year old wants.

A few months in he starts guilting me. Eventually he tells me he'd kill himself if I ever left him. A teacher of mine in school actually posed a theoretical question about whether that was abuse in class, and when most of the class agreed it was, I realized that the fact that I felt trapped in that relationship was normal and that it wasn't healthy.

I broke up with him and then he plastered "bros before hoes" all over his face book for a year.

So cringey looking back. Good lesson though.

Car guys ... automatic NO's for me

same with video gamers, super religious men that try to convert me, anime obsessed men/guys that go to conventions for it and have all the merch ... its on the line of a clinical addiction, usually they have other mental health disorders like depression or anxiety, and they all usually have serious issues managing their money.

my former friend is a pickme who dated a man 6 years older than her. he was a waiter at a dumpy diner, but we were in college and would eat there often because it was cheap and close by. me and her were 21 and he was close to 30, worked there for a few years, dropped out of college, lived at home with his parents, flirted with his female coworkers in front of me and my friend who was his girlfriend. she had talked to him about finishing his degree and he was unmotivated. then we saw his car: extremely modified expensive brand, super lifted, the most obnoxious big wheels and rims, weird lights and a custom paint job, he was a total Car freak! I made the mistake of pointing out the lift and opened the rabbit hole... suddenly he was spewing all these facts and stats and ended up telling me his car is worth as a much a house and he's happier pumping money into his car rather than moving out... beware of car guys!

Number 4 is, because in his relationship both partners have their own interests and are equally free to enjoy their time apart. They encourage each other and share the household work fairly. Because they spend time doing things they enjoy they have plenty to talk about later.
