I worked as a stripper when I was 18 in Australia and in my state, there was a VERY strict “no touching” rule for strippers. It was a table top club and we didn’t provide lap dances, we did however do private shows where we got completely naked and danced on a small stage while they sat in the chair in front of us. Overall, compared to what I hear about US strip clubs, it was very G rated. If someone said something to us or touched us, they were removed immediately. We had a lot of business men too who would come in for “meetings” and I always thought that was so weird.

Anyway, regardless of the club I worked at having the highest standards for its women, every guy there was a creep. They would ALL take me to a private show just to try and talk me in to going home with them or even “back to my own place” because they were married. They would all use the same line “why am I spending $300 on a 30 min show when I can get sex from a brothel for the same price? And little sassy 18 year old me would fire back “then why don’t you go to a brothel?”. They wanted to coerce me and have power play. I ran a strip club many years ago, I thought it would be cool too because I’d fallen for the sex-positive bullshit. Former stripper here. Confirmed. Usually the women who come in with their man will have a look of pain when I was dancing for them. I was pulled aside tons of times by the girlfriend or wife and asked to ignore them or to not go so far. They’d pay me to IGNORE their husbands.

I’d also ask the wife if she was comfortable and make an effort to reach out to her for dances and for the husband to watch.

As a former strip club employee, I’d have to agree and disagree. Majority of the men who go are trash. Most of them don’t even care for the naked women, they’ll just buy strippers drinks to watch women get drunk - like a fetish or something. Or they go to turn down the strippers because it gives them some sick ego boost to turn down beautiful women. On the other hand I’ve had a lot of successful men, millionaires and business executives come sit at my bar and just watch sports and have a drink. (I also think it’s because my club was a whole in the wall) and every time I’d ask them why come here out of all places it was just because it was the last place anyone would expect them to be and they just needed a beer and a break.
