My twin brother is an absolute loser. He wasted my parents’ money for his college in which he dropped out. Which would be okay if he didn’t spend the next few months sitting on Fortnite, fucking any girl that walks his way, then leaving her hung to dry. He has a job that he barely attends so he’s just in his room for hours. If he’s not there, he’s with his friends in the city tagging buildings, running from police, and using girls ofc.

While we were driving up to the restaurant, he was telling us how he is “breaking up” with this girl he was talking to. Basically he’d spend all this time with her and solely just have sex with her. We are an open family, but Jesus that caught us by surprise. He confidently said that he didn’t care how she felt, he was just done with her. He said he’s going to send her one message and pretty much ghost her. This girl already met my parents as was ready for a real relationship. My brother refused to tell her he was just looking for someone to have sex with. I called his ass out, but it was one ear out the other.

At the dinner table, we talked about obesity since we were talking about a TLC show, “1000 Lb Sisters”. He of course went on to say they deserved to be called fat and whatever. My mom pointed out that a lot of women who were sexually abused in some way tend to eat as a coping mechanism (I being one of those people). He said that they still deserved to be fat and die. No help for sexual abuse, whatsoever.

Here’s the last kicker that got me. We got to dress code right after and I explained how it’s ridiculous that male teachers can leer at us and make comments about our outfits. My brother said that men don’t wear revealing clothing and it’s the girl’s fault for showing too much skin. He said dress code protects them from assault. I told him that I was wearing a pizza uniform when I was assaulted. He ignored my comment and asked me what men wear that reveals themselves. I labeled gym shorts, sweatpants, “chub shorts” and muscle shirts off the bat. He said men shouldn’t be dress coded because they don’t get looked at. Yes, they do, but we don’t go and grab their dicks seeing them in those clothes. We get sent to detention for wearing a tank top, but a dude gets one day of lunch detention at the most if he is groping girls. My brother still took the stance of, “If she’s showing skin, she’s going to get touched and that’s her fault.”

Suffice to say, i wanted to scream at him in the restaurant. I wanted to rip him a new asshole in the car. But I couldn’t. I actually wanted to breakdown. I learned that if that’s how he regard women, that’s how he regards my mom, my sister, and me. He knows about what happened to me and still disregards women. His misogyny was so bad that I noticed that he was talking to my mom and me like we were inhuman for the whole evening. I actually resent my brother. I don’t want to talk to him if he ever moves out. I absolutely cannot fathom why he can’t even have a sliver of empathy knowing his own twin sister is too a victim of the patriarchy.
