I've seen the debate within many subs and actually had to unsub from a lot of them due to it. How preferences are ok but requirements are often demonized. And it's often followed by the same ridiculous reasoning which, unironically, they demonized when other minority groups adopt but in a different scenario.

"Preferences are ok. That means while you prefer one thing, if presented with another, you'd still consider it. Requirements not so much since it leaves people out."

And my question is, why must I consider every single person within my dating/sex life? I am not for everyone and everyone is not for me.

If you have any physical requirement of some sort especially height, weight, race, disability/ability or even some non physical requirements such as income, religion, political alignment, higher education etc, you're seen as this bitch.

"You can't reject someone on things they cannot change."

Uh yes, yes I can.

I'm 5'5, I am well aware that men are on average within that range but I truly don't care. Not attracted to men shorter than me at all. Either neck and neck with me and the tallest I see my self dating is 5'9. I also do not date single fathers at all. I am childless and childfree.

Then here comes the made up scenarios. The what if-ers.

"What if you fell in love with a man with a child? What if you fell in love with a broke man? No higher education? Short man? Etc.."

...How can I fall in love with someone I just stated I will never want? Besides people need to understand other people do not process emotions the same. Dated my last boyfriend before he sadly passed away for 5 years, took me with two years of dating to feel love, three years to say "I love you". He was everything I wanted and more. Emotions don't really manifest fast for me.

Besides why do total strangers care about the dating requirements of another? Affects you in no way shape or form.

"You're shortening your dating pool."

WE KNOW! Just don't care. I cannot see something as a lost if I never valued it to begin with.
