I know this may be obvious for some but I feel like this needs to be said just in case, especially for newer members. When you participate in this subreddit, never make your personal information clear. Don't say in what country or state you live, don't post links to pictures of yourself, don't comment your social media handles, don't have a profile picture of yourself. Use an alt account. Don't answer DMs on this alt account. If you are sharing a story, change up small details so you aren't easily identifiable. There are crazy people out there, specifically on this subreddit which tends to attract many dangerous people (ahem, men) so protect yourselves and don't put a target on your back by making yourself easily identifiable. This may sound paranoid but it's better to be safe than sorry. It sucks that we have to take these measures, but we need to be safe.
