Yeah, something I heard eons ago and tried to keep in mind while raising my daughter is your kids wont cherish and have memories of how perfectly clean the house was, they will cherish and have memories of the time you spent with them.

There were times when I felt like I have to get this done and that done, but had to keep my priorities in order, time with my kid is far more important to me than making sure theres no dishes in the sink. And this quote is a great reminder that we, ourselves are more important too.

Not an excuse to be a slob, but definitely offering one-self the grace to not sacrifice other things in life for keeping the house perfectly clean at all times, or all the guilt involved if you cant maintain that.

This reminds me of the women who make dinner, then spend time cleaning and doing the dishes while everyone else eats. SIT DOWN AND EAT WOMAN!

I've read and re-read this book many times. It is so full of wisdom. At this point, I have so many highlighted portions, I can just flip it open randomly when I need some inspiration.
