I’d be concerned with how IG is affecting your mental health. If you have that many followers are you posting a ton? Are you glued to your phone or looking forward to every like?

I always tell people to delete their Instagram (not necessarily permanently) but media pervades so many peoples lives, and they don’t even realize it. If I were you I’d “turn it off” for a month to see what happens.

That’s a pretty solid platform you have and if you decide to monetize your Insta for blogs or hobbies, it’s good to have that base. Some careers even take your social media following into account. You can also get on better OLD apps like RAYA.

Just archive any photos you don’t like and delete any comments you don’t want. Curate your « close friends » list for your stories as well.

I would delete it. Not because of men, though. It's a part of your life you no longer connect with, or feel comfortable about, and the time spent deleting/blocking these followers could easily be spent elsewhere.

I would create a different profile and make sure it wasn't traceable (use different email address, phone, turn off certain privacy options, etc) so that you can start fresh. Then I would make the profile private.

Beware some of your previous followers may have downloaded some of your photos, and what's on the internet is forever. But at least you won't have do deal with daily bullshit.

Do this for you, not for anyone else. Think of it as a brand new life chapter.

One thing: Anything on there is out there forever. I wouldn’t delete it yet as you want control of original content. Find a way to make it private from ALL maybe while you figure out? Others will know more :) If not find someone knowledgeable you trust to consult.

Honestly? Unless you have a reason to be using insta at all, I'd drop insta. Or at least stop posting anything.

Yes. You need to get rid of the Instagram. I would do it because I wouldn't want all those creepy men clinging to me and looking at my photos.

Remove each male follower you don't know. A lot of them are bots or catfish scams anyway I find, I get requests from the same kind of account to follow me every day, which are obviously fake, a nice looking guy with 12 followers and three pictures. Block them; why should you give up your account just because of creepers?

Is it mostly pics of you? You could archive most of those and post pics of different things. I also have close to 4k followers and sometimes I get weirded out by the whole thing. But my account isn't really focused on myself, more on my hobbies and lifestyle and it grew when a few people made YouTube videos of something about me/with me in it.

I just try not to post anything too personal anymore. But I still enjoy Instagram and I've actually made quite a few IRL friends from it. If I encounter someone super creepy, I block them and report them. I rarely post selfies and the other day a creep commented "I want to kiss you" on my selfie so I blocked him. I don't really see a reason to delete it, if it's not negatively impacting your life.
