So, just to clarify, she wants quotes on her walls and is very excited about this idea. We looked on pinterest for ideas after her girls group coach suggested a poster of positive affirmations for the girls to have and use daily. She saw that many pins for teen girls rooms had prints in their rooms with quotes. I suggested the one from RBG (the one pictured in my post) since we had just learned about her (we've been learning about different women in history). She loves that quote, and we each have a t-shirt with the saying on it. So she asked me to find more inspirational quotes from cool and strong women that she could learn from. She also picked out watercolor prints of her favorite animals that we are getting printed to put on the walls as well. We were picturing a couple framed quotes, then maybe a few more smaller printed on paper for her little peg board where she collages pics and different random things from writing and drawing.

I want my girl to feel empowered, so of course I asked her what she wanted to do with her own space.

I agree with the points that your daughter should definitely have an opinion on how her room is decorated.

My suggestion is not a quote, but a book! For Teenage Girls With Wild Ambitions and Trembling Hearts by Clementine Von Radics It's a single poem in a book but it's super inspiring! I linked to the lyrics so you can read the poem but the physical book is worth the purchase imo

Why not put up some of your favourites in your room as well? I may not agree with my mom on everything but at the end of the day what sits at the base of my heart are the cues I took from her. If she sees them on your wall, even if she thought they were ‘cheesy’ at the time, she will remember them when she needs to.
