The ideal time to have sex in a relationship is between 3-6 months. Waiting any longer could be a waste of your time.

Waiting for marriage is only a good idea if you have zero access to birth control and if you have zero libido.

You can wait as long as you want to, but you're putting yourself at great risk if you wait until marriage. There was a post on reddit not too long ago where a woman told her story, that her husband insisted on putting off sex until marriage because he had an ulterior motive: he didn't want her to know he had a micropenis. He thought getting married would prevent her from breaking up with him once she found out.

That said, you don't want to go into marriage with any potential for big surprises sexually or otherwise. you want tob know if he's pornsick or a selfish lover or into bdsm or has ed before you tie the knot.

Terrible idea. You really need to know if you're sexually compatible before marriage. Marriages are not easy to get out of.

I've been thinking on this myself except being celibate until engagement.

Normally after some familiarity is established I just ask point blank what a man's size is. As long as it's not deformed and is the appropriate size for me then that's good for the time being.

I'd just like the security of having a ring on my finger before we get physical. In a lot of ways I think it's telling that a man can wait that long, that he's willing to enter into a courtship wherein I may vet him at my leisure, plays on the traditional requirements to physical intimacy and gives him the opportunity to show how much he values me by the ring he presents/the proposal.

I love the idea that there is another social level added for accountability. I imagine the physical intimacy is a good lead up to the marriage itself.

Absolutely a terrible idea! I see everyone mentioning sexual compatibility and micropenises, but you need to know how he’s going to treat you. Is he going to push boundaries, make demands, force you into situations you don’t want? The fact is, once a abusive man has put his dick in you, he’ll feel like you’re his property, and this will be evident in all aspects of your relationship. Of the 2 abusive relationships I had, both were good as gold to me until we started having sex, then the mask came off and they felt they could do whatever they wanted to me. Sex is the final physical boundary; you need to know if he’ll respect you after that.

Absolutely the hell not. You wait until you’ve determined you feel safe, cherished and respected. You wait til you’re acknowledged as someone important in his life (as in, we don’t let ourselves be side chicks, dirty little secrets or any variation of this low value shit).
