Yea 18 to 22 or maybe even 23 seems great. Definitely don't go over 25 years old. Males will see you as wet clay they can mold more than a partner. That's been my experience anyway.

If you are in college the most HV thing you can do is date amongst your peers. You have a huge pool of socially-vetted (not romantically-vetted) young men, of presumably similarish socioeconomic backgrounds you can get to know.

I know it may seem like your peers mostly date out of old, but they’re not dating hun. They’re hooking up even when it looks like dating.

If your classmates are all women, you should join groups and hobbies where you can all become acquainted with young eligible men. Surely you have activities with a sister/brother school. Look into co-Ed activities as much as you can.

Old is an ugly place. Avoid it insomuch as you can.

18-22 is a perfect range at your age. I wouldn't go more than two, maybe three years in either direction until you're about 25. Life changes so fast in your early twenties. The most important thing to keep in mind when considering age is where you're at in life. 18-22 year olds are most likely like you - college students not looking to settle down. In your mid to late twenties, when you're starting to establish a life and career, it starts to be okay to date a little bit older, maybe four or five years, but younger gets sketchy because you start bumping into college seniors, who are still in a very transitory, impermanent state of life and lifestyle. Age matters - but maturity and stage of life matter too.

Remember that you're young, and this isn't husband-hunting time. You're honing your skills, learning what you do and don't like, learning how to trust your gut and identify the earliest warning signs. This is practice dating. So have fun with it and be safe!

My opinion is that 3-5 yrs is okay. The older you get, the longer your range can be. I'm most comfortable with about five years either way, but at 39 I would date someone up to ten years older than me.

You have received some wonderful advice. Also don't date with the intent to settle down, date to meet and have experiences.

Too many 19 year olds settle down with the first guy that makes the heart beat a little faster and suddenly half your twenties will have gone by, you'll have wasted them living like a married woman when you are not.

Just a tip, arrange your own transportation for first dates. You never know what could happen after you get into their car.

Personal rule has been +/- 2 years. Not more than 5 years in any case
