Has anyone else noticed this?

False accusations seem to be a common topic on this sub so I figured I'd ask whether this rubs anyone else the wrong way. Whenever a false accusation is proven, well, false, I always see "Ugh, she's making it so people are less likely to believe real victims" and hardly anyone saying "This is awful for the man accused"

Whenever someone DOES state the latter, they get a ton of responses trying to redirect the conversation back onto women victims.

Don't get me wrong, there is a genuine point about the believability of real accusations being important to protect. That's not the issue I have here. The problem is the utter lack of compassion for the innocent men having their lives ruined, and the little compassion for them that does exist getting steamrolled by a hypothetical PR disruption.

Btw I'm saying this as a victim myself (women perpetrators- yes, multiple) and as someone who did briefly face false allegations of pedophilia (it never ended up with authorities involved, but I did get kicked out of a community that meant a lot to me where I had many friends. They didn't change their minds even once they realized my supposed victim was older than me, and I proved she'd sexually harassed ME... After I came out to her as GAY...). Both situations are horrible and deserve compassion, not just the first one- and frankly, said compassion (and encouraging thinking through evidence before taking sides) can actively prevent blowups from false accusations.
