I’m a left leaning man (might even call myself a leftist/socialist but I’m not so sure on that yet. I just know I like streamers like Vaush and Hassan lol). Anyway, as a man supportive of equality I’ve always been drawn to and supportive of things like feminism in principle. As such, I would say it’s fair to say that I identify as such. But I’ve also found it very telling that so much of “pop feminism” is really just misandry. That said a lot of subs and movements are hijacked by right wing nuts so it’s difficult to find a proper balance.

I believe things dealing with sex and dating are very murky (especially when we get into things like consent, attraction, and power dynamics/age gaps even if both parties are legal adults.

I believe that many mens issues are brushed under the rug and the concept of #believeallwomen puts men at a place where they’re always guilty till proven innocent no matter what.

I believe that benevolent sexism is still sexism which is wrong.

I believe that people regardless of gender or sex can easily be horrible or amazing people and everyone should not be treated differently when it comes to support or care in any way.

I believe there’s a lot of issues men face that current pop-feminism (like on Twitter) doesn’t support and flat out gaslights us into believing isn’t real or even worse, is our own fault.

I believe much nuance needs to be had with all things, especially issues regarding fundamental characteristics like gender.

I’ve only read a few posts and comments so far but this seems like a great sub for addressing these kinds of concerns and promoting healthy discourse. So thank you for those that run it. There are some which massively censor people but it seems like you guys are legitimately pro-discussion and understanding. So thanks for that. It means a lot to me and I’m sure many other men as well.
