The 1996 federal law against FGM was struck down by the Supreme Court in November 2018.

Sadly it wasn't due to the law's sexism, which only prohibited genital cutting for girls, not boys. Instead, the Court ruled FGM to be a local criminal activity - a matter for individual states to regulate.

At the time, only 27 states had laws banning FGM, surprisingly making the procedure legal again in the other ~23 states.

The method used by the Dawoodi Bohra sect in the USA v Nagarwala case is just a tiny nick on the clitoral hood (with sterilized medical tools), leaving otherwise fully fuctional genitalia.

As other states introduce laws against genital cutting for girls, there will be more opportunities to argue that equal protection either bans or permits it for both sexes. If female cutting is always illegal, with no exceptions for religion, then male cutting is equally prohibited. Alternatively, if religious beliefs do allow an exemption, like for cutting boys in Judaism and Islam, then cutting girls is similarly allowed.

You misinterpreted. I do believe that circumcision is a part of heritage. It's been inscribed in ancient Egyptian traditions, and also African warrior tradition as a mark of a boy becoming a man. That's not something neither you or I can rewrite. It's been saved and the knowledge has been preserved.

I'm not sure if you are aware that Jesus was circumcised I believe 8 days after his birth, right? That serves as a template of why people get circumcised in Christianity (besides the other figures) specifically. They just didn't make that up in the 1880s.

I seemed to really have triggered you off about Christianity and circumcision. I'm sorry to say, but whatever you want to throw out about circumcision not being a tradition, there are plenty of biblical and old testament passages supporting it [where as many are passive and don't say its mandatory]. That's something neither of us can change. Men will be circumcised just as their fathers were, just as you were. Religious clergy are trained to do the procedure.

What I am also saying is that outside of Abrahamic beliefs, circumcision happens traditionally, just like in African warrior tribes as a boy is ordained into manhood. That has nothing to do with judeo/christian values. Circumcision does fall into tradition.

I am going to put this out there to see if it resignates with you: More American males are circumcised on average than most male citizens of other nations. Therefore, it is the most common practice worldwide for a country. This regardless of religion.

Ok, first of all, guy don't reach climax by rubbing their foreskin between their fingertips, it's about stimulating the glans. This is the same from cut and uncut guys. Also, the thing where the glans is not sensitive at all, maybe it's because I am uncut, but it's common sense that the glans is loaded with nerves just like the tongue. The glans for a male is the clit for a female. That's how sensitive it is. Now, when you are cut, the membrane of the glans dries up and nerves die. It is less sensitive, but as you know, it can be manipulated for orgasm.

Hypersensitivity is an issue of the glans. If the foreskin is injured like regular skin, it can get sensitive, but i'd always rate the glans as more sensitive. Much to the point where I am okay with circumcision.

I read your report, and in short it says uncut guys have more sensitive glans than cut guys. It's supporting what i'm saying. it says nothing about the foreskin being more sensitive. I'm pretty sure you don't know the function of the frenulum and the foreskin. The Frenulum and Foreskin is the equivalent if the clitoral hood for women. The glans is the equivalent of the clitoris.

I rechecked your link, and I think you are giving me the wrong link. You should read it. Here is the summary: cut guys have a less sensitive glans than uncut guys. The claim is that the tip of the foreskin is more sensitive than the glans. I've felt itching and burning on the foreskin tip before, I will say that, but that itching and burning does not arouse me.

Ok, this is new to me.

If that is your goal, good luck to you. I understand that you want the benefits, but beware that foreskin is skin, and it is subject to infection. You'll now have an increased chance of balanitis. As for phimosis and paraphimosis, I'm not sure if you are going to have a natural like hood over the penis. It needs a frenulum and a preputial right. It also needs blood vessels. Top of the foreskin is it's own device.

Also, your chances of getting an STD during sex will rise, as you've pretty much created an incubator near your urethra.

Some want the benefits of foreskin, and others want to abandon the burden of it. No way is the right way for everyone. Find those of your own belief. Guy who want to be cut have just as much right as you trying to regenerate.

I agree, STDs can be carried by both circumcised and uncircumcised men, but I also realize that the fostering of bacteria and STDs is greater with foreskin because it seals and shelters the wet bacteria and virus in a larger pocket than the urinary tract. The glans membrane is practically a petri dish, layerd with proteins viruses can feed off of. The soft glans is easier to penetrate than a dried up glans due to moisture.

Well as someone with a foreskin, I can tell you three things:

1) based on your other comments, I can tell you that your assumptions on what it's like to have a foreskin are way off base. For example, your sensitivity does not skyrocket to the point that you only last a few minutes. I can easily last longer than what I need for any given encounter. Tbh, it's actually a bit of an issue how long I can last.

2) if I want to experience what it's like to not have a foreskin, I can simply pull it back... It's equivalent to holding ones arm behind ones back to experience what it would be like to not have an arm. It's not an exact representation mind you, but near enough. Based on this alone I can tell you that there's no way I'd ever want to get cut... Not in a million years.

3) the foreskin serves two main functions: to protect the glands, and to act as a sleeve which allows the penis to glide without lubricant. Both those functions aren't vital, but they are awesome.

Stretched foreskin is not the same as uncircumcised foreskin. You literally lack the anatomy of the frenulum, preputial ring, and will not have the top foreskin shape of an uncircumcised penis. I think you should decide what argument you are going to fall behind. Arguing both sides isn't working out for you.

So, I am guessing that the women you are with aim for generally uncircumcised men? Maybe hispanic, asian, european? That's how I am reasoning how you are the only uncircumcised guy they've been with.

i'm telling you that it's a huge deal because of the massive difference foreskin restoration has had on my sex life. you'll find out when you get circumcised, but it'll be too late for you then.

I want you to think about what you just said. You are circumcised, and you are regenerating your foreskin, but you are saying if I get circumcised, i cannot regenerate foreskin. Like, it's mutually exclusive to you. do you realize the hypocrisy?

Besides, you have a regenerated process, not natural foreskin. I'm pretty sure that I wouldn't have the tight foreskin / closing preputial ring issue. Your regenerated foreskin will not be the same as natural foreskin.

For me, getting ride of the curse of phimosis and balanitis is very important. I'm not worried about sensitivity, as i've had a bit of hypersensitivity in my glans i want to numb down anyhow.

Balanitis is like having acne on the glans. I wouldn't wish that on anyone. Good pics of it on Google. I had this only as a teen and in my early 20s. I was afraid it was like gangrene.

Phimosis skin tightening for me sucks because of the function of the frenulum. It prevents the foreskin from going back, which was painful during sex and masturbation. It's like wearing tight pants. For the most part, you can function with it, but when it comes to running, if it's too tight, it will harm you. Unfortunately, the skin does rip sometimes. I don't think you will have this if you don't have frenulum connection.

Paraphimosis is the swelling of the foreskin, especially the top part. It's like having a concusion on allergic reaction. I've had that, and after every round of it, the tightness seems to gain. not cool at all.

Stitches on your foreskin from a dorsal cut is pretty radical to me. It wasn't a fond moment. I would have preferred circumcision to amputate the issue altogether.
I doubt you've talked to hundreds of doctors. If you have, you would have noted that urologists accept circumcision as an effective procedure to cure the situations caused by phimosis, balanitis, and posthitis. I actually want you to fact check me on this and go to urologists. Look it up online if you like. It's so widely practice, adult male circumcision is covered in healthcare (meaning it has preset charge codes).
If you've gone through the science, you'd be using direct vocabulary to refer to what you are talking about. your language is too vague. I know you didn't mention steroid creams, I did. It's an approach some doctors prescribe to patients to attempt to loosen up the foreskin. I also mentioned type two diabetes as a major factor in phimosis.

In a dorsal slit, the dorsal ring is severed, and the opening of the foreskin is widened with cutting and with stitching on the top of the foreskin. Yes, a dorsal slit in the tip of the penis is much more radical than getting stitches past the glans where the skin isn't expected to move and expand to expose the glans. In a dorsal slit, a patient still have to deal with the healing and the problem coming back, plus the stitched areas can be infected by urine, semen, and smegma.
You are protesting, not talking to doctors. They aren't listening to your debate. Don't mistake your protests as scientific research. you are complaining to docs walking past you. that's like me complaining about a problem but not working towards fixing it. it's someone else's responsibility, right?
So you know that what you just mentioned can fail and would result moving towards the option of a dorsal slit... and here I am telling you a dorsal slit will heal and fail as it has for me. Go ahead and look up what the next steps are if a dorsal slit fails. Circumcision isn't a bad option.

That is not true, the glans does press forward, but in my case does not push past the dorsal ring. Working on the extended tip of the foreskin is more sensitive as movement is needed to expose the glans. You are literally talking to a man who is living this reality right now. removing the foreskin and dorsal ring past the glans physically removes the problem. Below the glans, the foreskin does not have the be as elastic as the tip. The stitches where are past the glans do not face the same movement as they are closer to the base. as simple as removing a cover from your car. Yes, the car is exposed, but the problems of the car cover scratching the paint job are now not relevant.
Sure. And somehow they walk into their work places not taking what you've said to mind, going on with their tested medical training over your opinions. See, the problem is that you come from a stand point of "you believe and think." You do not experience, study, or are expected to have results. If it was a valid point, the science would support it. There are cases where circumcision is the best option.
The problem came back, and I felt and watched it happen. That is not a cure, like how chemotherapy is not a cure for cancer. It's a work around, where it will come back in some cases because the problem has not been addressed. It sucks, but sometimes amputation is the answer. Personally going through that just to get another dorsal slit is not worth it. Get the circumcision and be done with it. It will never occur again, and is not painful after 6 weeks.

there's no such thing as a "dorsal ring". with a dorsal slit cut big enough, there's no ring of any sort left. it's like if you cut a slit down the length of a paper towel tube, it can no longer fully encircle anything or be "too tight". removing the entire penis would also eliminate the problem, but i hope you'd agree that's much more radical surgery than is necessary, no?
when they've just spent 20 minutes telling me about how it's never medically necessary and they do their best to talk parents out of forcing it on their sons, i'm not sure what behavior changes you'd expect them to have after the conversation. i do experience and study. the science does support it. there are no cases where circumcision is the best option.
i'll put money on you changing your tune a year or two down the road. i know a LOT of men who were in your position and now consider circumcision the biggest mistake of their live.s

Ok, I see, what I am calling a dorsal ring is named the preputial or phimotic ring ( https://obgynkey.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/00575.gif ). In phimosis, that tightens up, as it is for me now again. It exists, and the tightening of this ring is what phimosis is. When I got treated at 14, they specifically cut it. It has not reformed. Removing the whole penis is unnecessary when removing the foreskin is the remedy. I agree with you that is extreme. Pretty much I am for making the circumcision at the shaft as illustrated. The medical field deems this as a solution, and I agree with them.
Literally I have told you about phimosis and balanitis. It is your choice to ignore the facts and promote your own opinions. Think of it this way, medical professionals have already had this conversation for years, and they have not outlawed circumcision. Doctors are trained in the procedure. If it was as bad as you are making it out to be, it wouldn't be promoted. Now, if you want to argue the science or urology versus your personal feelings without considering the research they have done and the people they have helped, that really is something you have to bare.
If these are guys who are circumcised before puberty, I'd rule them out. Phimosis, balanitis, and paraphimosis aren't things you shrug off like a bruise. A cut is going to go down your foreskin that low, that is like making a hoodie with a zipper. In that case, it would be pointless. Just do the circumcision and make it less complicated. The top of my glans is toughed more than the base of the glans because it was exposed for some years. Regeneration of foreskin and the closing of the preputial ring started happening again. From my experience, the dorsal slit is a temporary solution which the body will overcome.
If that is so, they are giving you lip service. The procedure is literally explained online how it is done. Curious, are you in the United States?
There are a lot of ways to masturbate. Yeah, they gotta change it up. The glans loses sensitivity since it dries up, but that drying up helps protects the glans from balanitis. Plus they last longer. When I get circumcised, I realize that things will change. I won't be having sex or masturbating for 6 weeks. I'll be urinating with no problems though, and won't have to worry about smegma.

The glans is the most sensitive part of the penis. It's literally loaded with sensory nerves like a tongue. I think you should look that claim of yours up, as the glans is commonly compared the the female clitoris. Also, I think you are confused of what a dorsal slit is. no, the glans is one of the least sensitive parts of the penis. the foreskin has five times more sensory nerves than the glans does. even on a circumcised penis, the glans is far less sensitive than the ventral portion of the shaft.

well that works out for both of us, because in my opinion, you are not educated on what you preach, and therefore more of a danger than a joke to the medical conversation.

Like I said before, I'm a guy who has went the the dorsal slit operation in his teens, and now is electing circumcision as the preputial ring has healed and the problem is happening again. During that time, i've had issues with my foreskin.

Now, you've refused to listen to what i've had to say, and i've noticed you've refused what other have had to say also. This is why you are a problem. People are giving you personal experience testimonies, and you are trying to overwrite their experience with your misinformed opinions.

Look, I'm 51, I was circumcised, I don't remember it, I didn't remember it when I was 10 years old either. If it hurt, I don't remember. In short, I couldn't give a sh*t that my parents wanted me to be circumcised. My parents are Catholic, so I assume it was either a religious or cultural decision, but does being circumcised affect me in any way, shape or form? NO! I don't think twice about it, except for the fact that the rare times I've ever seen an uncircumcised penis, I think it looks really weird, which is probably the same for someone in a reverse situation. Did you see a 5yr old, 10 yr old, 15 yr old male circumcised? If so, maybe it is more traumatic, but if you saw an infant go through it, I'd say your overreacting imho. I could be wrong, but I believe female circumcision happens at an 'advanced' age, which is much different. I'm frankly, happy I'm circumcised, but I'm sure I'd be equally fine if I was uncircumcised.

Well at 7 days old, I wasn't in much of a position to stand up for myself so.... Humor aside, the fact that my parents had a superfluous flap of skin removed from my penis at an age that it never registered in my memory just doesn't ruffle my feathers as much as it does yours. I guess I'm lucky they took the judeo-christian route. Doing it at 12 y.o. is an entirely different matter, but it's still a superfluous flap of skin. Also, I could be wrong but I believe female circumcision is a whole other level of damage to the female body..i.e. cutting off the clitoris?! Apples vs. oranges in my book from what little I've seen.
That said, I respect your right to be incensed over male circumcision and wish you well in your campaign to abolish it. I didn't want kids, but if I had, I'd have chopped it off on day 7 and called it good cuz it never negatively impacted me in the least.
