I didn't initially care until they started removing the urinals from the men's rooms to add more stalls. To give women more places to sit and to try to force men to sit down to pee.

The easy solution is to not flush after taking a shit. Let women deal with that. Follow that up with removing a toilet seat or two if they take the urinals out and keep doing it.

On numerous occasions I've used the "ladies" restroom, that is, the ones with only one person at a time. There are usually a few men waiting to get in the men's restroom. I walk past, knock on ladies room, no answer so I go in, pee, leave, and then others follow suit. No sense in them both not being unisex.

At my last job there was a male and a female bathroom, both single stalls. Everyone used any bathroom available, I even asked women if they were ok with me going to the female one if the other was occupied and they said "It doesn't matter, I use whatever bathroom is available". It was nice to know the coworkers were not absolute idiots.

My school was the same, 100~ Boys, 2 Girls (Or 3?) and the bathrooms were like that:

1 For Boys, 3 For Girls (1 was for Teachers only)

Basically Female teachers got their own toilet and the male teachers had to share with the male students.

Equality.

Edit: That happened over a decade too when things were not AS bad...

This happened at work.
They converted the men's restroom to a unisex, single occupancy bathroom while leaving the women's restroom the same.
I get asked all the time by confused guys looking for a bathroom and instruct them to either wait for the unisex bathroom to free up or go upstairs.
This would be mitigated if they converted the women's restroom into a unisex bathroom too.
