The interesting thing is that once you stop caring about women, you also tend to stop caring about accumulating money. Anything past the point of being warm, fed and having a roof over your head seems pointless and redundant.
Just recently I turned down an extremely well paying job in an industry most people would die to be in. I prefer taking long walks in nature every day, reading philosophy books, working in my garden, playing cool video games, acquiring new skills and working on self-development. And most of all, being alone. I'm not an old guy. I'm only in my early 30s in fact. But you can never retire too early and take back your time and freedom.
It's all led me to the realization of the following principles:
- the only reason men work hard is to secure a vagina either by means of impressing it with money or buying it outright
- society exists only because most men are willing to trade in their time for money, in order to secure 1.
- almost everything else is a surrogate activity that compensates for a lack of success in 1.
Time is literally the only resource of value that you have. Money is just a proxy for it, and the ruling classes can and do print it for free and give it to their friends first. But they want you to sign away your life for it. Don't be a fool, don't squander your life in the service of others just to impress a bunch of strangers who wouldn't even notice if you were gone tomorrow.
Perhaps what helped me make this transition is the fact that I was a fairly successful pick up artist in the previous decade of my life. PUA, TRP, all that stuff. What I've seen out there is so ugly and nasty to make me never want to go near it again. I've seen the monsters that hide behind cute faces, short skirts and high heels. You know what I'm talking about.
Go your own way, all the way.

You're 100% right, OP. Similarly, we are seeing a big number of articles lately in the MSM lamenting the huge increase in working-aged men dropping out of the work force. Of course, the worry is not for the emotional or societal well being of the men themselves, but instead for the loss of production and even the inability for the poor, college educated women having difficulty finding steady providers / husbands.
Anecdotally, I'm a little older than you. I worked on my career like a mule in my late 20's and now 30's, spent little, and invested a lot. Admittedly, I did this with the idea of attracting a good woman and creating a family. Now, after dating a lot in the past few years, I've come to realization that it is a huge risk to get hitched with an American woman - both financially and emotionally.
And now that the money has piled up while I still live a minimal-consumption lifestyle, I find it very hard to find motivation in my career. The married guys come early and stay late, always tired and stressed. I come and go as I please, often leaving early to hit the gym. I don't volunteer for promotions or extra projects. I work remotely, without asking, when I want to visit family or take a little trip. I give off the vibe to my bosses that I don't give a shit if they approve or not, cause I'll find a new job tomorrow if they have an issue. But I don't fight over raises or bonuses much either. It's a win-win.
It certainly helps to have a skill in high demand and cool mgmt.
Going forward, I'm in great shape compared to friends and coworkers who are mortgaged to the hilt, kids, stay at home wife, and the quiet desperation of a slave.

Depends on your age. I'm glad I worked hard for the last 20 years - college, shitty jobs, and then the corporate meat grinder. It taught me the value of money and also gave me a lot of valuable career skills and life experiences. I would not be better off having just dropped out and smoked weed and grinded away on video games at 25.
The only reason I can have my give-no-fucks attitude is because I have a war chest of cash in the bank. Half of that came from avoiding common women pitfalls of Western society, but the other half came from working hard for a while and saving bank.
And I know what you mean about your own business. I'm seriously considering taking a break for a few months and working on my own ideas. I like to work hard sometimes, but at this point only on my own terms, not for some corporation or to impress a boss.

"Fuck You" money is great...
But I'd caution you against being TOO overconfident in the "money assets" you have -- especially things that are dependent upon third parties: in banks and other paper investments. Doubtless you're "diversified" -- but most likely only in the FALSE definition of "diversification" that "financial management" drones regurgitate.
If you're at the point you indicate, you would be wise to convert at least some of that "war chest of cash" into actual REAL physical assets: a chunk of land, a cabin in the woods, a workshop with an array of useful tools, equipment, resources & supplies that retain value and don't readily or quickly deteriorate, etc. (i.e. things that have actual "utility" value for living, beyond the "resale value" that is dependent on the system or some "greater fool" desiring to buy it on the same assumption).
Basically put away some portion of your "savings" in things that -- to OP's point of "being warm, fed and having a roof over your head" -- will endure and retain actual value TO YOU, regardless of what games & shenanigans* the "establishment" does.
* And yes they can "tax" land and buildings, even confiscate/destroy it via force. But doing so on a wide scale & extracting deep "value" impoverishing & impacting nearly everyone -- is about as practical as attempting to squeeze blood from a stone -- it can be done, but it is among the LAST things they try, long after they've confiscated everything else (the "assets" that are much easier to seize or extract value from en masse).

Great points. Also, can I ask what the skill is? If it's private, a message works, or if private still, that's fine.

We can earn money back but when time is gone it's gone.
We should also be able to live in the present moment.
Living with a woman doesn't allow it because she will constantly put more pressure on you so that you provide more and more resources and attention.
