I'm starting to just be calm about this. V-day used to piss me off, but after some relaxed thinking, I refocused on the fact that it's just a corporate, coldly designated day for "love," and anyone that participates in it deserves to have their money hoovered out of their wallet or purse. The holiday runs counter to what "love" was often played up to be like: spontaneous and selfless. Buying or making an elaborate gift as a reaction to a calendar date is just going through motions. Sad!
