Guy at my work went through almost the exact same thing. He went to HR and said he was confronted by two women (who were friends) that commented on his appearance.

They were written up and had to go through sensitivity training.

Women have no concept of how entitled they are now. Honestly I don't even blame most young women, as they obviously just don't know any better.

I can't even work in a place with women anymore because I am one of those people who just can't go with the flow when people are being stupid. If this shit really grinds you, look into going freelance or running your own business with a few other dudes.

I actually make more money now, but even if I didn't, I would take a haircut of 20,000 just so I didn't need to deal with the raw reality of a broken society 5 or more days a week.

With that said I would think twice about saying anything that includes the words "you" and "attractive" at work.

Social interactions these days are way more strained than you might think. As you saw, your benign comment actually made her cry and the men take offense. Give it a couple of years before that response elicits a call to 911 and a swat unit to show up.

Why are you talking to a woman at work if it has nothing to do with work? I understand ignoring a woman will get her upset but that is usually safer than chatting with one at your place of employment.

Can you hold your own in a fight? Before long you standing up for yourself will cause white knights to attack you. At that point it doesn't matter if your response made sense. At that time it will not be the smartest decision.

When you were to shave off your beard, you became powerless in their eyes. One of the reasons women nag about beards, is because it makes a man look more agressive / dominating. They might actually even like your beard but they just want to see if you're an easy target for them. Beards really are a MGTOW topic for me. But I live in a city where having a shaved face is the rare exception. Everyone here has facial hair.

The saddest was watching my dad get hounded for years by my step-mom "You should shave your face. I wanna see what your face looks like".

This is code for "I hate your beard and want you to get rid of it." It was obvious that once he shaved, she was gonna raise hell if he tried to grow it back (spoiler alert: they divorce and his beard instantly grows back).

She used to hound him non-stop and even tried to get us into her manipulations, "Wouldn't you kids like to see how handsome your father would look without his beard?"

"No. He's had that beard longer than I've been alive. The beard IS his face. Leave it alone".

She also made him cut his hair too.

Then, there were the fights I'd have with my ex over my beard, but I've already typed too much. Point is: It's a fight for us men to keep our beards, sometimes.
