When I started my dream career in a male dominated industry I was beside myself when I landed my dream job. I mean the dream job. I went to school to get this specific job at this specific company. It was the only goal I had and I achieved it. A top starting junior position in the country, in one of the my competitive jobs you can imagine. I spent 4 years studying and learning my craft, earning every piece of respect and experience i could get my hands on. It was not uncommon for me to work 80 to 100 hour a week because I am so passionate about my work. I moved across the country several times in pursuit of my dreams, with the hopes that my hard work would pay off.

Essentially it did.I was accepted into a job where they did an intake Started with a 4 month contract. That year the company decided they needed diversification of women because at that point the company that was over 1400 people, had only 200 women. So the intake of 16 people was 50% men and 50% women. You might think that's fair yes? In a male dominated industry in most school and work, there's a reason for it. 9/10 students studying in my field are male. Which means that 90% of the applicants are male.

So in a gender diversity intake, if there are 200 applicants for 15 positions. Men have a tiny 4% chance of getting a spot and women have 40% chance of getting in. Its clear that this is an unfair system and and I beat this system by being in that top 4%. - To be clear there are several hundred applicants for this job. 90% of the applicants are male. It is statistically impossible for there to be more than 2 or 3 females accepted as indicted by previous intakes.

So about a month into my employment I offended 2 women at the same time. I know when it happened because they told people about what I had said but would always say it like "He said this really fucked up thing to us." but it related to a statement in which I said I did not think getting into romantic relationships at work was a good idea.

They were gossiping between themselves while I was driving, and I just contributed my point of view. its not an incorrect view, its simply my view. I said I didn't think getting into a relationship at work was a good idea. Why is it a problem that I don't go to work to find a romantic partner? It seems like that could be awfully complicated if that went wrong. At the time we were out on our way to a bar after work, I had to drive sober as they had already had alcohol. - I don't drink around work collegues.

I should mention I did not know I had offended them. They did not react. They did not say anything. They did not give a single indication they were bothered by the statement. We went to the bar and continued the night until I went home about 4 hours later.

The following Monday, they reported the incident as harassment to my bosses. All I was told was that I complaint had been laid regarding sexist behavior and comments about women to women and I had no fucking idea what to do or say. Like I was blank and blindsided sitting in an office trying to figure out what I had said to someone that would be so bad that they could not say something.

Because that's what's rational yes? Someone says something that you don't agree with. You ask them to clarify or explain in order to either understand or limit the offense you are taking. That's how normal people respond. They ask "What did you mean by this?" - If only that fucking question had been asked maybe my life would be different today.

  • I was not informed what I said
  • I was not informed of who I said it to
  • I was not informed of who made the compaint.
  • I was not given any recourse to fix or at least try to remedy the situation.
  • The only option I was given. You did this. There is no debate. Apologise in a written statement and accept all responsibility for your actions.

They said that the complaint was confidential and the only people that would know about it would be the people that made it and myself. But over the 3 months I discovered that literally everyone knew about it, because they spent 3 months slandering me, turning people against me.

  • I wasn't given a single task for 2 months. I went to work, sat there at a computer in a windowless room and did nothing. Given no direction or instruction. Repeatedly I was informed by my male co workers that they had asked management to give me a task and they had denied the request.

  • I was forced to work alongside one of the women that I had "offended" and she would openly hate me to everyone but me. 3 different male employees on different occasions noticed this behavior and said that her feelings against me were unreasonable. Even a friend from outside the job in a similar profession who had met her, told me about her utter distain for my behavior towards her. At this point I was almost never speaking to her other than to say "hi" in the mornings as I had to pass her desk. -On several occasions she would call me an asshole to her desk buddy who was a friend of mine. -Her friends that she had rallied behind her treated me like I was an asshole for literally existing. These women didn't even know me. They never even spoke to me because they had already made up their minds on the type of person I was.

  • I had anxiety everyday and I started to burn out from the stress of being hated every minute I was in that place. My dream job was a place I actually hated. I cannot fucking believe that's possible. Its not even that suprising 2 years after it happened. How else am I supposed to respond to a situation like that.

I went from being steadily employed known as a model employee with fantastic references and a future, to a social pariah who was literally throwing up and afraid to go to work because of the anxiety I had from being so afraid I was going to microaggression these women into ruining my life.

And then it happened. I didn't actually do anything. I just existed, No complaint could be laid because I hadn't done anything but I still lost my job. Why?

The girl who hated my guts simply went to management before my review and said "He makes me uncomfortable."

No actual complaint or situation, but a feeling. My existence made her uncomfortable. So I was not allowed to have a job. I got into a job that accepts 4% of male applicants and she cruised the fuck in at a 40% acceptance rate, Takes comments I said out of context, bullies me for 3 months straight and ruins my life because she can.

Why did this happen to me. I don't understand.

I am in this black hole of fucking anger and I cannot climb out of it. Females are not victims. They have all the power in the world to use their words and position to say and do whatever they want and there is NO recourse. If a woman says you did something,"You did this." This is no possible way to say you didn't do this or to even suggest or imply that their point of view is irrational or unreasonable. A woman's right to be comfortable and unoffended by ANYTHING is more paramount of importance than me working in a a job I earned, and would have been great at.

There is no line for how men and women are supposed to exist at work. There is a women's right to be comfortable. That is the only thing that matters and that is just bullshit. That implies that any differing point of view to a female that has a vindictive personality can destroy a man through reputation destruction, gossip and slander. Which is exactly what happened to me. What about my right to be fucking comfortable? Id like to pay off my 60k student loan and not be slandered out of employment because you don't like that I exist. It doesn't matter that they couldn't state a single incident so I could defend myself or offer a logical explanation as to why they may have reacted unreasonably. Id like to have been able to make friends and be fucking happy.

There is no fucking right to be comfortable. I am not a person running around yelling hate speech, offensive topics and demeaning genders. I am a person who simply did not want to start a job looking for a relationship. I thought it was unprofessional. Also there's almost no women there from my point of view. Its 9:1 ratio company wide.

This politically correct society we live in is disgusting. It gives women an excessive amount of power to say and do anything with zero consequences, and to incur the wrath of women you simply have to offend a vindictive one. Feminism was supposed to be about equality, now its about labeling all men as potential rapists and ruining any man you don't like. No evidence or facts, just take a comment or situation you didn't like out of context and use it against them. This is the most regressive movement in the history of western society. Say something that differs from her world view or if someone mishears it and they will ruin your life. That is reality for men and I have lived it and suffered the consequences of such a toxic movement.

TL;DR - False Accusations that didnt even involve sexual harrassment ruined my life.

Edit : Well this exploded. Didn't think it would resonate this much but I'm glad it did. Thanks for the support.
