The irony is that, even though the couple agreed on being able to have an affair with other, the man would have much harder time doing so because the women that he would see, would find it immoral of a man to have an affair with others, whereas the womans affair would get accepted by the ones she sees.

This makes this beneficial for the woman and her desires, whereas the man gets left behind and not able to pursue his desires.
