I was a gate guard for the frist 3 months of enlistment. The amount of military (officers) wives that would demand to be saluted (officer tags on vehicle) was outrageous. All you did was marry some dude. You aren't sacrificing shit.

One of my best friends was in the Army and had nothing but bad things to say about military wives. He said single guys on base would regularly double-team wives of guys who were stationed overseas.

But the worst story he told me was about a guy in his unit whose wife filed for divorce while he was stationed in Iraq. According to her she got so lonely that she let a literal homeless guy move into their house, then "fell in love" with him after a few weeks so she filed for divorce.

Of course she tired to blame it all on the poor fucker who was in the sandbox thousands of miles away fighting for his life. She claimed that she was making huge sacrifices by sleeping all alone in the big house that he had paid for and that he was "pushing her away" by being gone for months at a time...
