The real irony is that such jobs are perhaps the most important of all for a society to even function. Who maintains the power lines, who cleans excess waste in the sewers, who goes to the wilds to generate the flow of raw materials. Those are just some examples of all the filthy and exhausting work done by men, if they were to lay down their tools everything would collapse.

The reasons for this are way too clear to be sugarcoated under a certain norm from HR. In the real world double standards like in the army do not work out, literally. All jobs females do can be done by men. Vice versa, not at all.

Of the 40 some odd people who do what I do at my company, 2 are women, and they are some of the toughest gals I've met. I would trust either of them with my life if it came to that and far more than some of the kids we've hired. People choose to do this job because it's a good wage with few educational requirements, and the way it works out there just aren't that many women who come here.

Exception, Australian Defence force recruiting campaign for Women only. For the Army Recruiters were specifically told not to recruit Men. This was a couple years ago and the backlash was real, that being the small amount that was publicized!
