The ultimate sign of this was "Islam is right about women". The point was obvious - you can't support both women's rights and Islam it's contradictory. Yet paper after paper article after article was trying to decode it "is it misogynist or Islamophobic". That's the whole fucking point morons it's either one or the other you can't support both. I work in pentesting and the most respected people in the hacking community, brilliant hacking minds who can find the most obscure bugs and make the most in-depth and easy to understand resources on certain topics, somehow are all filled to the brim with cognitive dissonance. When Trump was kicked off Twitter they cried "it's a private platform they can choose what they allow" but when Cambridge Analytica scandal happened apparently that same logic didn't apply. The truth is probably 90% of people are, at least intuitively, complete fucking idiots. They might be smart in that they're well educated or experienced, but when it comes to perceiving reality they will base everything on feelings over emotion. This is the most important realization about life and completely explains why you have superstar software engineer experts happy to marry a washed up 30 year old single mum.

Feelings are an automatic response in your brain that is private. Letting your feelings dictate your emotions is something most people learn as children, but it's becoming rarer today in our dramatised reactionary society.
Emotions are how you express those feelings to the world, hence the word emote, you get to chose how you do this which is very important in deciding to be a sensible intelligent adult or a child in a whirlwind of over the top emotions.
Men usually think before they react to see if it's appropriate, relevent or necessary, but women enjoy skipping this process and go straight to the reactionary emoting of feelings, often for dramatical purpose, recieving attention or believing their opinion is more important than others.

The definiton that is most widely accepted (found online on wiki, that is) describes emotions as "biological states associated with all of the nerve systems brought on by neurophysiological changes variously associated with thoughts, feelings, behavioural responses, and a degree of pleasure or displeasure".
In the interpretation above, experiencing the feeling is an emotion, and reacting to it is a different matter.

I also think I actually watched a separate documentary where they actually talk about the village these women are in. The way I remember it, it's supposedly a village that acts like a battered wives shelter, but for all intents and purposes they're still heavily dependent on men... it's just that the women trade 'favors' from men in neighboring villages in exchange for the things they can't do or produce.
It's basically if you made a society where FWB is the basis of the economic system.
