Keep in mind the distinction between MGTOW the philosophy vs MGTOW the lifestyle.

I doubt I'll ever go back from MGTOW philosophy (it's a kind of individualism, and I strongly believe in individualism). Though I've said it many times: MGTOW doesn't mean you can't have a gf or wife. You could spend your whole life in a relationship with a woman (or be a womanizer) and still believe in MGTOW.

The problem with this question is there are many flavours of MGTOW. You have your red pill ragers, your MGTOW monks, and a couple like middle who take a slightly more literal interpretation of "going your own way" to mean living life according to your own standards, not the one's impress upon you by society. IMO MGTOW is not mutually exclusive with romantic relationships, so long as those relationships meet the standard of being mutually beneficial (or at least beneficial to the man, though I personally don't like this interpretation).

Definitely. Okay, so here's a thing I noticed about the Redpill Rage, Malaise, and Acceptance. It is identical to the phases of Nihilism, Pragatism and Questioning experienced by de-converting Atheists. First, blistering rage at having one's entire reality turned on it's head. For Athiests, God failed. For MGTOW, Women failed. And those failures were the same. Both were advertised as "The great hope of the world, mankind, and -you personally-..." Both failed to live up to the hype. Yeah, there was lots of "you need to have more faith" on both sides, and lots of shaming about "how dare you question Ultimate Truth"...

And it didn't matter. Both failed, horribly, irrevocably.. It simply didn't WORK.. So you get nihilism, in both movements. The One Great Truth is a lie, there must be NO TRUTH... Eventually the nihilsm fades, and they are focused only on rebuilding a life that doesn't revolve around Gods/Women... I doubt I'm saying anything unheard of here before.

But eventually, an athiest can reach a state wherein, they are Open to the idea of divinity.. They just want proof. Instead of being a mad zealot, they are questioning.

I think something similar happens with MGTOW. Now, the story is a bit different. Because no matter the institutions built around deities to exploit an adherent, the gods themselves never directly abused you. Women, however, did. And they are everywhere, while the gods remain unseen. And it's a hell of lot worse to constantly be surrounded by your abusers, everyday, everywhere. Back to the point.

Though MGTOW is a new phenomenon, from what I've heard, it's more a rediscovery of Stoicism and strangely enough, Taoism; at least in terms of cultivating non-engagement. I haven't really read enough of Stoicism yet. But neither resulted in societal collapse due to mass celibacy. So I wouldn't doubt that some MGTOW decide their path does involve ladies, but from an ethically egocentric standpoint.

And hey, what does it cost me if they do that? Even if Spetznaz and others washed out eventually, it doesn't mean their work is lost. Just that they've perhaps moved beyond it. *shrug*

Since there are a variety of ways to come to MGTOW, the reasons why one leaves are as varied.

Some observe their surroundings and come to a conclusion rationally. Some emotionally. Some are longer term thinkers, some live in the moment. Some think women can be handled in controlled doses. Others think distance makes it unlikely anything will splash on them.

This and more guides an individual's decisions. MGTOW respects that some will think a lesson learned by another man does not apply to them.

If you want to "leave" you are perfectly do as you please.
MGTOW is about freedom to choose whatever you see best to fit you and your life.

It's not like we are tying ropes on some fellows who want to leave.
Plus, it's not very likely you'd find ex MGTOW here.

I could go out to meet women and in a month or two end up living with someone. Been there done that.
I just don't really think the value I get from a relationship beats the great life I can live when I'm on my own.
Having someone else there constantly demanding for my attention and just being there is pretty damn annoying.
It ends up feeling like I owe them something, a piece of my mind, my day etc.

It's just not worth it as I rather choose complete sovereignty, self sufficiency and freedom.
Nothing is more valuable for me and a relationship (which women tend to value high) is just not even on the same ballpark in importance or of value. Simple as that.

If I ever met a woman who could give so much value to top the above, sure, I'm open to that, but she has to be one wise, understanding, thoroughly beautiful, kind, temperate, mature and intelligent to be able to live the way complimenting the way I want to live. Such unicorns are very rare - And given how many options they have practically speaking, it's practically better for me not to be hopeful about such things happening and instead be pragmatic and keep my focus in my own self development, my own health and happiness.

I couldn't care less if someone chooses otherwise as that's their business and they are free to make their own mind.

There are a lot.

Many early-days extremely militant MGTOW youtubers, such as bar bar or Spetsnaz all started families and disappeared. They had made great content and awakening, and yet went back the way they criticized. There are probably a ton of those who are not so famous but have gone the same way. Most of them just feel too left-out, alone or defeated by reality.

I feel like mgtow has plenty of good points but many members seem to have taken way too far. I imagine most people who are lurking on this sub reddit feel a similar way about mgtow. I'd bet the majority of us are not full blown mgtows living ghost mode, but we haven't fully dismissed the concepts as some are valid/

Yes it’s mentally disabling to constantly listen to the hive and going against it gets rehearsed anti-women comments like “plug into the matrix, women always cheat, all women bad”.

The idea of MGTOW should be a concept to self improvement. A lot of men seemed to abandon women because they were annoyed and hurt at the level of mistrust and degeneracy displayed by modern women.

Then MGTOW and r/theredpill fills that gap being left by women, allowing some men to see they need to respect themselves first before getting into another relationship and being walked all over.

Don’t let a group of people decide what you want to do, think for yourself. If you want a girlfriend; remember what you learned from last time and what was said on here, apply your free thinking and red pill theory into practical scenarios, living with another person is a choice. If you don’t then have fun exploring more of your free time to your interests and having a tonne of cash.

It's not wrong. But I could see (perhaps) getting to a point where you're fully protected and can live a life that includes women. I have no problem with women in the workplace per se, and even some female friends. But yield to the system? Never.

I'm reminded of a friend's dad. Self-made, rich. He learned a good lesson via divorce. From then on he was ok to have a girlfriend - but the rules were clear. Never more than 2 days together in the same place. Never leave anything at each other's place - if she left even a toothbrush, it went straight in the trash. Sex, yes. Commitment, no. His money's his, her money's hers (fine to pay for a weekend, if he wants to go more upscale than she can afford). Etc. He's MGTOW, in my view.

Tingles will matter more than principals even in men. Fact is, going mgtow makes you a better man, and that's attractive to women. If they find a person they mesh with, I dont fault them for it. We are learning things our fathers should have taught us when we were 5 years old. Besides, most humans are hypocrites, and will get really angry when you call them out on it.... Back when I was a subscriber to IT, I would see “former incel” posts show up from time to time, and there were some MGTOW in there too (minus the incel because the two are not the dame). It was throwaway accounts though so there’s no confirmation that it is credible, so take it or leave it.

There's a bunch in this community who never really were MGTOWs, they just needed to vent or gain status in order to find a woman. That's what happened to "Angry MGTOW" or whatever the F his name is nowadays.

Apart from that, your life is yours. If you think you found a little unicorn and you're willing the pull the trigger on a half full Russian roulette, then you do you. If you want children, you don't need marriage for that.
