I read that as:

"To be half as good as a man in this field, you have to be twice as good as what you think you need to be. Because men and women are on different playing fields and they by their very nature are better at most things than us, and you need more than pretty looks to get somewhere in a man profession."

I would be more offended if they said to be "As good as a man"

But they dont. By their own admission they are setting themselves to be half as good as a man from the start.

All I saw was, "I'm not happy because I'm comparing myself to men all the time." Mommy and Daddy did a terrible job. I see it everyday in the women around me and the psychologists keep getting richer.

This illustrates something I learned a long time ago, any gender, race or other group that has to constantly pat themselves on the back and tell each other and the world how adequate or superior they are... it's a big show of insecurity and inadequacy. If you are secure with what and who you are, you don't need to wear shirts bragging about it. You don't need to have worthless protests and tattoo it across your neck- you just need to 'be.' The mere fact that you need empowerment in the first place shows you're hanging on a lower level than your competition.

It's kind of right.

If we equate "working hard" to "effort", then I kind of agree. Women are conditioned to having it easy and the sense of entitlement runs deep in their souls. Even with the ones that claim to be egalitarian. They are used to being pretty and having someone else carry the heavy stuff. Not only physically, but in all ways.

Considering this, if a woman wants to succeed in a competitive environment where merit is measured nonvisually, it is going to be twice as difficult to muster up the courage, drive, and motivation to put in massive amounts of effort. To risk failure while being directly compared to her peers solely on the output of her work and who are also putting in massive amounts of effort. This pressure is the environment where men do their best usually, but like a flower growing in the desert, the heat and lack of water or shade is just too much for the average flower to thrive.

I play a lot of poker face to face and honestly, the closer I get to winning a tournament, the more engaged and tuned in I get. MOST (not all) women fade in intensity as the field drops and the stakes get higher. Last time I was heads up with a woman as the final two, she basically conceded first place to me and barely put in any effort. In fact, she was only 2nd because she coasted for a while as I took out the other three people at the table.

She's also not wrong in saying it's not difficult. All they have to do is to fight their hamster that is going to constantly tell them to give up, quit, do something easier. They have options that require much less effort for a decent return on the investment of their time and effort.

This is a medical related field and I live in a medical driven town. I can tell you that MOST doctors are men and MOST registered nurses are women. Both are in health care, but it seems its not the women who are driven to take the path of 10-12 years of additional schooling, fellowships, residencies, job searching, competitive hiring, and board reviews to work 80-100 hours a week. They instead take the path of just 4-5 years of college and are nearly guaranteed the job even before graduating and will work 40 hours and are more than happy with half the pay.

Bla bla bla. I hear this type of thing all the time and it's such BS. Some women just insist on having a victim mentality and making excuses for their failures while others shut up and do the work. The ones doing the work usually don't say things like that because they don't see it that way.

There's a difference between mandating equal opportunity vs. mandating equal outcome. Western society is moving more towards mandating equal outcome.

I have experienced this first hand with a female doctor when meeting her about my son and his "supposed" ADHD condition. I questioned her about what she was recommending and she took it personally, that I was questioning her credentials as a doctor instead of seeing that I am an involved parent and would not accept anything without review and study.

After that incident I would never trust another female doctor again, prefer males instead as they discussed the treatment and took my questioning as it should have been taken, not personal but a parent making sure what was being proposed was best for the child.

Thing is. A woman's accomplishments don't scare me...nor do they turn me on.

She can do and achieve whatever she wants. As long as she is bent over the table when I get home.

This is not dread - this is culture. Culture here is steering these comments. Pound MeToo is your example (branding matters).

The key is to first recognize the problem - i.e societal influences. Once that is done, calibrate based on your frame and viewpoint.

I have no college degree, i lift, dress well to all circumstance, speak clearly to be heard, confidently bow to no one/ especially doctors.

This is not clearly, not competition.

The “mindset” is “extreme ownership” in all facets of your life, and train yourself to see this as part of the “terrain” ahead at all junctures Do not be misled

It’s accepatable to view/enjoy your accomplishments and understand your new found fortitude with viewing the world through an MRP lense, it’s another to sustain it
