Hey brothers. I find myself sitting in church this morning enduring the act of putting mothers on a pedestal. It seems each year there is always a video exalting mothers, multiple references in the sermon praising them, kids coached to draw/write letters to mom, and the inevitable rose given to each of them at the end of the service. In contrast Father's Day seems to be an afterthought. If there's a video it's a celebration of betahood, the sermon is only marginally themed on fathers and sometimes there's a few rebukes tossed in against husbands who aren't beta enough, no drawings, no roses (or hammers or whatever the equivalent might be).

So what. As men do we need respect and praise for what we do? Yes, in fact respect/praise is one of our major needs and a large part of why men choose to marry (that is, to have a woman who respects and adores him). But if you've swallowed the pill and found your alpha you already get that respect on a regular basis, sometimes verbally but also through your wife's daily service, her willingness to submit to you, and her responses to you in the bedroom.

So today I encourage you all to celebrate Mother's Day. Give honor where honor is due. Pleasure her with a special meal, do things her way for a day, make it clear you respect her for what she does.

Are you giving up your frame in doing this? No, because it's your calculated decision. You find that doing this valuable and are executing your plan. As like every other day, own it but chose to make it about your First Mate.

I'd loved to hear your guy's thoughts. Maybe share how you handle this day and/or Father's Day.

Edit: Wrote this during church so had to go back later and fix a few things.
