Hmmm, that's a tough one.

But, just my 2¢, I'd say that you absolutely should have "The Talk" now. In fact, don't waste another minute.

Why?

1) Because, you've been doing this already for a whole week! Good job, by the way! Some guys don't even last a couple days! So, you definitely have a good handle on all the major concepts, and probably know most of the detail. Everything else from here on is just extra filler, and probably not really necessary, at least, not enough to keep you from having The Talk.

2) You're "reading" NMMNG, MMSP and 'everything' on MRP. So, again, even though you haven't quite yet finished the first two books at the top of the Required Reading list, you still (obviously) get the basics of all this stuff. One of the things you frequently hear around here is "Close Enough Is Good Enough." Could almost be the motto of MRP, to be honest.

3) Your wifey WANTS you to have The Talk - even if it seems like she doesn't. Women LOVE that stuff, and they love appearing to "resist" you having Talks where you tell her that you're no longer affectionate towards her (that gets her attention and will get her tingles going, no matter what words she may use to the contrary. Her Last Minute Resistance to your Alpha Behaviour of drinking a lot and telling her you resent her will just fall away (along with her panties!)

4) When you do have The Talk, could I suggest you be 100% clear about the New Alpha Man (Beast!) you've become? Start it with something like "Listen here, you fucking bitch! I am the one who wears the pants around here, dammit, and now you are going to treat me in the manner I now deserve! I know it sounds harsh, but that's the New Me - get used to it so I don't resent you even more! It will all be worth it, soon, when I start lifting and you can't take your eyes off my bulging muscles - I'm doing this for YOU, hon!"

Something along those lines.

It's worked so well for all the rest of us around here.

Be sure to let us know how go. We're all ears for such promising Field Reports like this one is sure to be (but you already know that).

I am pretty sure you are going to get some heat from vets here. I was as confused as you are therefore my few cents:

In my opinion a very simple answer to "when to have a talk" question is never.

Women talk, men acts. If you have to "talk" a women to something in your relationship, you have already lost.

There are some instances (option A/B in MMSP, soft and hard ultimatum from Professor's 12 levels of dread) where you are suppose to "talk". However that is the last futile attempt to revert an incoming divorce nuke from your side. When you are an attractive man, closing on other women whenever you want (or at least regularly), owning your shit AND your significant other still does not put on..... THAN you are giving her the last chance to wake up by that "talk".

However when you are there, why to bother with "talk" at all?

Now, you know you are not that guy yet right? If you were you would never ask this question.

Do not talk, lift, read, own your shit.

Lift. Eventually, initiate as much as you want only when you can remain OI if you get rejected. If you get rejected, withdraw a little attention.

A fuck me or fuck you talk is a year away, if that is what you are referring to. MRP will work long before that unless you continue to be misguided as your post suggests.

Man you are lucky to have discovered MRP 18 months after your second child. You have the information, consume it. Then take action. If you are drunk quite often you cannot drive a car, much less captain a ship. Your wife wants hot and wet sex just as much as you do, but if she doesn't admire you, she doesn't desire you. Direct all your frustration into the gym, not the bottle. For me, to STFU has been the hardest part. Use a journal. It will help you sort your thoughts and refine your voice. Post in AskMRP occasionally. The audience is not as harsh. Then when you think you have something of value to say, post here. You will still probably get shredded, but that's how you learn. If you choose the swallow this pill, be prepared for an extremely difficult process that has big rewards.

The talk is certainly for sleeping SO's but yours had a baby, and apparently you are so unattractive, or failed to game her, that you are just a hopeless weaksauce. Read, lift and seriously consider STFU until you absorb the materials. She will come around in actions alone, but I warn you now, drop the resentment and quell the anger before you have the "yelling" talk
