There's an assumption here that discussion online and advocacy in meatspace are mutually exclusive. That's a false dichotomy.

Have a look st organisations like the National Coalition for Men, or the false allegation support organisation, and others. The wiki in the sidebar has a lot of information.

I'm pretty sure everyone here knows we need to take action to make change. But telling people to do something doesn't make it easy. We need ideas, solutions. More than what we've already been doing.

If I’m going to ruin my “reputation” and potentially never be hired again for being a “misogynist” for advocating in favour of men, it’d better be for a cause that’s unquestionable. There are structural reasons we are mostly online. It is self-harm to publicly advocate for men when the only result is to be shunned and mocked and it was impossible to persuade people anyway because they don't care about men.

I’ve posted on here about doing something in real life. We need a men’s rights organization like NOW for women. Every time I post let’s get organized in this thread it gets deleted and I’m banned for a week.

I’m game to create something that’s a cudgel against rampant hate for men and sexism. What do you have in mind?

Men are inherently disadvantaged when it comes to organizing for men's rights.

There are many reasons but here are a couple:

Men exhibit larger differences between each other then women, so women are more of a monolith ideologically and are able to present a more united front bc they are more similar to each other
The success of political organizing is heavily dependent on relationship building, and women are much better at this

Off the top of my head, one thing is the mission to report and take down sub reddits that are blatantly discriminatory against men and in favor of feminaricissm/superiority should be on the list of things that happen in this sub.

You have to be realistic with how you intent to make things better. Women have to actively want the same thing. But they don't.

I can't call it complaining as much as I can call it a testament to men.

When everyone adds to it, and you see how much of it and how many men regulate the space in order to keep it peaceful... When speak against men of all ilk, and you remember to come here, it should serve to illustrate how Cherry-picked the issues are.

When you talk to someone in person, even outside of a place with a current feed of regular people voicing their discomforts... You have a lot harder time having a valid place to look yourself as a reminder that there are many places where general hatred can exist but does not.

Let's say we do it your way. Stop "complaining" here and go to other places and voice our concerns, point it out in media posts, news strikes, etc... How many people do you think will simply get banned instead of be allowed a voice? If people really thought they had a shot at being heard and not silenced or banned, all of the concerns that are had probably would be more effective in an area where the people who need to see / interact with it most exist, no?

Why do you think that isn't happening?

I wouldn't discredit online advocacy. I would suggest extending it to social media. What I mean is, if you see misandry or double standards on Facebook, IG, etc, use your online voice to combat it. Social media is a community and people gauge what is/is not socially acceptable in part from that community.

I mean this with all respect- because I hadn’t thought deeply about some of these factors- but everyone is a problem in this scenario. Its not men or women its capitalism and greed and we are all prefering convenience and ease.

If the world is changing (which it is) then we either have to fight, adapt or change. There is no other option. I can’t both bemoan the fact that when i walk into a store there is no “service” when I along with 6858 other people are ordering vast amounts of stuff online.

If the jobs arent available- and realistically this is a trend that will continue we need to retrain, or offer service that makes us ‘needed.’ It kind of ties into this whole topic. Shit, things aren’t working well for us- lets adapt. Modern day evolution, the threats have changed, so we need to engage the instinctual response which has been dulled by somewhat cushiness and move forward.
