Just because an ad is talking to men directly (and doing so only somewhat implicitly ), doesn't mean we should concern ourselves with it.

Sure, women do stupid things, too, but they typically can't make up for it with flowers. Which is why this only applies to men.

So, what's sexist is the idea that only men apologize with flowers, which the ad doesn't state. Also sexist is the idea that only women want flowers, which the ad also doesn't state. I'm a gay man. If any guy I'm with ever feels the need to apologize to me, flowers would be nice. I like flowers.

I used to work in advertising. In my professional opinion, the target market for this ad is: humans.

I think your reaction to this ad is a lot more sexist than the ad, in that the ad mentions no genders, and you're the one applying gender to it in order to be able to complain about it. Why not complain about the societal expectations that are behind your perception of the ad, instead of the ad itself? The ad may even have deliberately not mentioned genders in order to try to be a bit more egalitarian.
