Babies are born perfect. Except boys. They need to be strapped down and have part of their penis cut off as soon as possible. It's more dangerous to circumcise older boys because they can fight back.
[–]IVIaskerade 27 points28 points29 points (7 children) | Copy Link
I love how all the guys in that thread are saying "I'm so glad I had my cock sliced up as a baby because I wouldn't want it done to me now" like no fucking shit do you think baby you wanted it done?
[–]gecko_tail 23 points24 points25 points (5 children) | Copy Link
"I wouldn't want it done to me now"
aaand since you're an adult, it wouldn't be done to you! The only reason it happened when you were a kid is because you couldn't fight back. I don't understand how so many guys don't get this.
[–]PowerToAnnihilate 18 points19 points20 points (4 children) | Copy Link
It's because they think that it's mandatory on some level... which is fucked up, mandatory/socially forced genital mutilation.
[–]gecko_tail 13 points14 points15 points (2 children) | Copy Link
No one ever asked us whether we wanted to keep our foreskins, they just starting cutting. So I guess the concept of bodily autonomy is a foreign concept for a lot of us.
Also, when you grow up being told that the foreskin is a birth defect and a vector for disease, you probably assume that everyone has to have it removed eventually.
[–]PowerToAnnihilate 9 points10 points11 points (1 child) | Copy Link
Yeah true that. Most Americans/jews/muslims especially and some African countries since they have very high cutting rates. As a cut american I was deeply happy (but also personally sad) to hear that 80% of the world is intact.
I had part of my sex stolen from me. When it happens to intersex people (at birth gender assignment surgery), or when it happens to women (FGM) it's seen as horrible... but men? We are worth less than the idea (religion usually) that got us cut in the first place.
IDGAF if it prevented 100% of all dick diseases, it's my fucking body and it should be my fucking choice (right feminists?)
[–]gecko_tail 9 points10 points11 points (0 children) | Copy Link
I feel the same way. Even if all of the claims about circumcision preventing disease were true, I'd still rather have a whole penis. This is such a personal decision. Sure it's based on scientific evidence but it's also based on personal values about sex and it should never be made by someone else. I have someone else's beliefs and preferences carved into my body now. I'm trapped in someone else's worldview to a certain degree.
Unfortunately there is a tendency in some cultures to see male sexuality as dangerous, sinful, and dirty. Judaism/Christianity/Islam have been trying to repress and control men's sexuality for thousands of years now. Circumcision is just one way this has been done. But our bodies and desires have been under attack for a long time. We need to return to the belief that male sexuality is sacred and does not need to be altered.
[–]LacklustreFriend 4 points5 points6 points (0 children) | Copy Link
To many people (and cultures) it's seen as a rite of passage which is why people will defend it so strongly.
[–]peepeeandpoopooman 1 point2 points3 points (0 children) | Copy Link
I kindof blame the education system and the religious culture we live in. We are told what to believe in and what we have to do and we are discouraged from ever questioning why things work the way they do.
For example for many boys worldwide they have their penises mutilated and just accept it without question because where they live that's the norm.
[–]RockmanXX 46 points47 points48 points (6 children) | Copy Link
Its morbidly funny to think that Americans mutilate their baby boys just because the crazy guy who invented CornFlakes told them to.
[–]gecko_tail 20 points21 points22 points (2 children) | Copy Link
Americans circumcise today because of made-up health benefits and "he needs to look like his dad." Not even knowing that the real reason they circumcise is because of religious extremists who were terrified of masturbation and sexual pleasure.
[–]RockmanXX 17 points18 points19 points (1 child) | Copy Link
And those health benefits keep changing every decade. Originally, it was a "Cure" for masturbation and then after a while it became about "Cleanliness" and now very recently, its all about "HIV Prevention" all thanks to some debunked study done in Africa.
[–]gecko_tail 3 points4 points5 points (0 children) | Copy Link
I mean what else should we expect? The health claims are totally fabricated anyway so they can change their talking points whenever they want to whatever they want. That's a benefit of making claims not grounded in reality

I don't understand the "it's easier to clean" argument.
That's like saying "I cut off my lips because it makes my teeth easier to clean".
I am not circumcised and I've never had a problem with "keeping it clean". So it takes a fraction of a second longer to clean, I don't see the problem here.
[–]ryebrah2 10 points11 points12 points (0 children) | Copy Link
There are no good arguments for circumcision.
You match your son -- gross
It's easier to clean -- didn't know we didn't have running water in 2019
It lowers the risk of STDs - so does wearing a condom. And no it doesn't
[–]PowerToAnnihilate 12 points13 points14 points (0 children) | Copy Link
"In WW1 and 2 trench warfare often lead to people losing their feet to disease. Clearly feet are the problem and are dirty and must be cut off children at birth for ease of cleaning"

The same Americans who claim circumcision improves hygiene are the same Americans who claim toilet paper alone after using the toilet is perfectly hygienic.
Circumcision began as a way to prevent masturbation and improve moral hygiene. It had nothing to do with physical hygiene. Natural intact penis is much more hygienic than a denuded penis that is constantly chaffing against clothing.
[–]RubixCubeDonut 6 points7 points8 points (0 children) | Copy Link
Yes, this seems to be a very common misconception that even anti-circumcision protestors appear to miss. The connotation that seems to have sparked the "uncleanliness" vernacular seems to have more in common with the religious designation of "unclean" than with hygienic practices.

[–]Yoshiezibz 5 points6 points7 points (0 children) | Copy Link
We have other unclean parts on our body but we don't modify those parts to make it easier to clean do we. Behind our ears can get oily and dirty, maybe we should chop off the top and the dangly bit. Inbetween our toes get dirty so maybe remove 2 toes to make a bigger gap between then.
[–]peepeeandpoopooman 2 points3 points4 points (0 children) | Copy Link
I have my foreskin and have no problem at all with cleaning.
A risk that may come with the "hygiene" argument is that it may lure circumcised guys into a false sense of security and think they don't need to wash at all (and an unwashed penis is going to smell and be unhealthy whether it has a foreskin or not).
Same with the STD argument, circumcised guys may think they don't need to wear a condom because they are circumcised putting them and others at even greater risk of STDs.

The interior of the foreskin is a highly sensitive and delicate mucus membrane — just like the inside of your mouth, or the vaginal canal. The medical advice is that you should never use soap of any kind to clean the interior of the penis that is covered by the foreskin, nor the inner foreskin itself. Doing so can upset the delicate bacterial balance of those mucus membranes.
Doing so, could result in a bacterial or yeast infection, and it's that that is producing the bad odour.
Do you use soap to clean the inside of your mouth? No.
I have seen posts on the internet and Reddit with the same issue as you; and the problem has been solved by a visit to the doctor with swabs being taken for testing. Then a suitable treatment has been found, and the issue solved.

It’s called toothpaste. And I use Colgate total which is anti-microbial. So that kinda defeats your analogy.
Imagine working up a sweat and only using water to clean under your armpits.
Maybe you’re right, but I clean under my foreskin with tea tree oil soap and girls have always commented that I’ve got a “tasty cock”. The head stays moist and I’ve never had any other issues.
So I’ve never understood the whole “don’t use soap” argument.
[–]Consilio_et_Animis 1 point2 points3 points (0 children) | Copy Link
So you brush the inside of your cheeks and the back of your throat with your toothbrush? Weird.
And your girlfriends use a toothbrush and toothpaste to “clean” the inside of their vaginas? Oh dear.
The internal surface of the foreskin contains no sweat glans.
From your post, I would imagine there are quite a few things in life you don’t “understand” pet.

Nature : tens of thousands of years of natural selection created the foreskin (and anyone who had done a biology class know it isn't just a piece of skin).
Humans : probably useless and dangerous, let's remove it. At least babies are young enough that their brain and body can more or less adapt to the loss of it.

Yes. They claim "Jesus was circumcised" or "it's in the Bible" and do no further critical thinking of it.
[–]boxsterguy 3 points4 points5 points (1 child) | Copy Link
But Jesus was Jewish, so of course he was circumcised. That was the whole point, that he superseded the Jewish faith, covenants like circumcision and all.

[–]LacklustreFriend 4 points5 points6 points (1 child) | Copy Link
It's a mixed bag, it depends on the country and church. Circumcision is popular with American Christians (and Americans in general), but practically non-existant in Europe, even with Christians. Countries with Christian communites influenced by American Christianity also seem to have a higher rate (South Korea, Phillippines etc)
Notably, the Catholic Church does not support religious circumcision. Oriental churchs, such as the Coptic church, typically practice circumcision, though I am unsure if this is as much to do with Middle Eastern culture than it is religion, and I do not know if circumcision is widely practiced by oriental churches located in other regions (e.g. Europe, Australia)
[–]boxsterguy 1 point2 points3 points (0 children) | Copy Link
I get that, but that entirely means it's a cultural practice, just as circumcision in Islam is cultural, not a covenant with their god. No church based on the teachings of Jesus Christ would interpret a continuing covenant of circumcision in the Christian church, because Jesus' teachings were that he clearly undid the Jewish covenants and laws. Which is why Christians aren't required to circumcise, they're not required to avoid clothes of mixed fibers, they're not required to avoid shellfish or to avoid mixing dairy with meat, or any of the other old Jewish laws.
The fact that it's cultural vs. required by religion in turn means that we can ban it without being deemed anti-Christian or anti-Muslim. The Jewish population in the US is approximately 1% of the overall population, so if 50% of those are men there's only a religious requirement for 0.5% of the US population. That's low enough to allow for a Judaic religion exemption similar to the medical and religious (but not philosophical) exemptions we allow for vaccines. Which means there's a path forward for banning without having to deal with antisemitism. And that's why it's important to make a clear distinction as to which religions require circumcision and which religions and cultures have picked it up as a cultural practice.

Why? I think intact looks better, and it's a matter of principle as well. Parents should NOT have the right to do this to their kids.
So, by your own admission, circumcision impedes the function of the penis, yet you still say it's no big deal? Masturbation does very little for me, if anything it's more painful than anything else. It's definitely more work to keep clean and healthy, that's a whole can of worms but know it's true even if some people have it easier than others.
But more so that it's not normal, it's something you get made fun of for when you are 7 and piss in front of your friends, it's always in the back of your mind when ever you start talking to someone, whenever you take off your pants, it's something you see almost exclusively not represented in porn, it's something that makes you doubt a whole lot of things and I would trade the better sex experience in a heart beat if I got to go back to being a kid and never having to worry about it.

I work in a providers office and it's recommended to parents to have the procedure done. Don't have to prove some crazy religious reason to do it.
I say to those oppose, have fun telling your son why you thought you were right by not getting it done. Then when he does decide to get it done if at all, he will have a much longer recovery time, it'll be painful and the experience will be 100x worse than if they just had it done as an infant because he'll remember it.

Routinely chopping off part of a baby's genitals is wrong. Boys and girls deserve the right to intact genitals.
I'm guessing you live in the Midwest and think the foreskin is prone to infection and a source disease.

Since you're obviously not an anesthesiologist but instead work in a department with one I'm guessing, here's the actual definition of a circumcision.
Definition of circumcision
1a : the act of circumcising especially : the cutting off of the foreskin of males that is practiced as a religious rite by Jews and Muslims and by others as a social custom or for potential health benefits (such as improved hygiene)
Weird, not once is mutilation or abuse mentioned. Even the CDC recommends having it done which would defeat the argument of "But muh religion." They must have the definition wrong...

There are potential health benefits of cutting off any healthy organ. Cutting off the foreskin is akin to cutting off our head to prevent a headache. It's very valuable and specialized organ.

That skin isn't extra, it's there for natural lubrication and protecting the glans. And when too much skin is removed, it causes painful erections because there is not enough skin on the shaft for the penis to expand fully during an erection. Circumcision also removes part or all of the frenulum along with 20,000 nerve endings. That's a lot to lose.
If a boy wants to be circumcised, he can choose to do it as an adult. He makes the decision he thinks is best.
If a boy is circumcised, he can never undo that damage fully when he's an adult. His choice is taken away.
Let me guess: you're a father who had his son cut and now you're defensive because you realize on some level that you fucked up? Look, I'm not writing this comment to make you feel bad. American doctors and parents have dropped the ball on this issue in a major way. We all have to focus on doing things better in the future. Incoming "whatabout ism"
No skin is extra, none you are born with at least, especially genital skin. What part about "cutting off parts of children is wrong" do you disagree with btw? I'm against young transitioning too for the SAME REASON btw. Children/infants can't consent to getting body parts, especially sex organs cut up. Look up David Reimer btw, he's where forced infant transitioning and circumcision meet. Ends in suicide.
That's funny it's not recommended by ANY health organization... and even if it was cutting off tits cures breast cancer, cutting off eyes prevents sun damage, etc. Why just go ahead and cut off part of a kid's dick?
He can get it done later if he wants as an adult. This kind of logic extended is this
" I say to those oppose, have fun telling your son why you thought you were right by not cutting off part of his penis in order to fit societal norms/religious norms"
I'm sure he would thank me since I didn't take his choice, and part of his penis away from him forever. You can't say the same.
It's painful to infants too, and they don't understand what is going on. I bet just experiencing severe fucking pain a few days after being born resulting in partial genital amputation would scar someone for life.
Right, just like how date rape is legal because the victim just doesn't remember it. If they can't remember it, nothing bad ACTUALLY happened. kek.
And FGM activists, and other human rights activists? Or is it different when they aren't protecting a baby boy?
How is cutting off part of your son's penis doing what is best for the family? I didn't realize it was the family penis, I thought it was HIS penis and HIS choice?

This is becoming a sub of /TwoChromosomes just with beta males instead. Fucking hilarious.

Wonderful reply, really sparking the dialogue there buddy lmfao
Also
Says the man literally ok with the fact that his fellow men are literally having part of their dick cut off legally. I'm sure you are a complete woman-smashing alpha out here with your cut up thundercock.

Extra toes? Toenails? Don't need five fingers or exterior nose bits either. I could go on for many "unnecessary" body parts if you want.

Appendix, kidney, teeth, arm, leg. That was fun.

none of which are removed from infants if they are healthy.

Shaming or bullying people to seeing your view point isn't going to change anyone's mind. Call it mutilation, a medical procedure, unnecessary, I really don't care.
My son isn't going to remember his and most likely won't give a fuck just like 99% of all of my other friend's that don't hate their parents for getting it done when they were unable to "consent" either.
I thanked my parents when I was old enough to know what it meant because guess what?
No pain, no suffering, no crazy looking penis due to circumcision. Haven't thought about it again until some idiots claim it's child abuse.
Having known friends who were actually abused by their parents, I find it very insensitive to compare their actual suffering to a non-life threatening procedure.
With that being said, I would never put down someone for not being circumcised or pressure them to get it done for themselves or their children.

Labels are important. I noticed you are a libertarian as am I. Do you want someone enforcing their view point on your body with a knife? That's circumcision.
So argument ad supposed populim? look up r/Intactivists or r/foreskin_restoration if you want to see just how many people care.... hell most of this sub cares because it's a men's rights issue. Also why is consent in quotes? An infant can't consent to sex and they can't consent to genital cutting either lol.
Alpha of the year over here lmfao. "Thank you mom and dad for cutting off part of my penis, I am eternally grateful." Pathetic mate.
It looks unnatural. It's missing parts. That's just the fact, mine is that way too but at least I care enough about other people that I don't want them to deal with it too.
So cutting off part of your kid's penis isn't abuse because why again? I thought dismemberment especially genital dismemberment was more like end of the line medevil torture, after the stuff you would call child abuse (like beatings and other abuse) didn't get all the information out.
It's so non-life threatening that around 100 boys die a year from it... completely preventable and those are just the ones they can attribute to it... not to mention the potential disfigurement from it if it's a botch, or the fact that you literally are missing part of your dick after they are done with you.
Other than your own child, who you just cut right? No pressure there, just action.
You do realize you can't just cut up your kids and then be upset when people call you out on it right?

Intactivism has been going on far longer than Andrew Yang has been in politics.

Baby cutting is barely even a thing anymore in Canada, Australia, New Zealand - and rates are plummeting in the US as well. Forced circumcision is on the way out all over the Western world. This is just the beginning.

Welcome back Doobie! A Circumcision thread on r/mensrights is almost naked without your holy presence.
