Absolutely this topic is 100% related to this subreddit. It’s one of the many blatant double standards in the treatment between males and females. It is a violation of bodily autonomy which is a decision made by parents before the infant boy can give consent. Also the consensus in modern times is that it does nothing to prevent disease which is often the reason given for administering circumcision in the first place. The stance here is the it should be in the same category of barbarism as female genital mutilation and accordingly banned.

Feminists claim abortion is healthcare and bodily autonomy is unassailable, yet are silent and seemingly indifferent to a forced surgical procedure performed on the genitals of the majority of infant boys. A clear violation of bodily autonomy and a stark gender imbalance. Their silence speaks volumes about feminists true feelings about boys and men. Because we know they would be yelling from the mountaintops if the same thing was being done to infant girls.

Ppl fight against hormones/blockers for trans/trans-questioning kids & there's certainly an argument for the stance that they have to wait until the age of 16-18, just like for a driver's license, etc.

Yet it's perfectly okay to genitally-mutilate them as babies?? Fucking wild..society is so fucked-up for men/boys, it's unreal..yet all too real

I agree that it shouldn't be allowed. From what I've heard is that parents have to actually pay extra to have it done nowadays, which means most people opt out of it. Unfortunately this was not the case when me and my brother were born in the 90's...

Thankfully in my place of the world it doesn't exist, and I feel that people who justify it are just trying to justify their trauma. It is a barbaric practice with very obscure origins, especially regarding the "secular / medical " justification. I don't know if you are in the right to sue but the more people do, the more the issue might finally end. It's crazy that there is a multi billion dollar business around it but people just look the other side and say it's a cultural rite of passage or whatever. "my body my choice" is only valid for women, whether its this or being drafted for wars, forcibly when the time will surely come again..

This is a much more complex issue as the vast majority of people who support it or are indifferent to it are led by religious convictions.

Any person that has come forward with the proposal to outlaw it, and there's been many in many countries, has been immediately smeared as nazi and anti-semitic/ islamophobe.

It's atrocious, unnecessary and even crippling, but I don't think it can be stopped due to freedom of worship laws, and because it's intricately linked with two highly protected religious groups.

No religion, no culture, no tradition, no parents, no law should ever have the right to mutilate children. That all should be banned/forbidden.

It is the child’s choice, because it is its body. And said child has free choice of religion and free choice to participate in traditions, so it can’t be forced on it.

It also should be considered Genital Mutilation. Because if you force a Cosmetic surgery onto someone without their consent, it is considered a mutilation.

Also, the medical reasons. There are many scientific studies, that show you, how useless a circumcision is and how harmful. Phimosis operations are normally not necessary at all. Only one in 10,000 cases is necessary, to Safe the patients kidneys. Flow Obstruction causing Phimosis.

The only pro-circumcision groups are, fetishists, people who want to harm men (mostly feminists), doctors who earn a ton of money with this procedure.

It isn’t that cleaner at all, we have soap. And in the smegma Debatte, everyone forgets, that woman are producing even more smegma, than men do.

The equivalent to a radical male circumcision is to circumcise the inner labia and clitoris foreskin in women.

It is only right if that child can decide itself at an age of at least 18+.

It should not be legal to perform this procedure except in cases of medical necessity (phimosis). End of story. The fact that we allow it precludes us from being a civilized nation.

I am a man circumcised at birth and will get downvoted asf for this but idc. I am glad I am cut. I have done a lot of actual research on the topic. Don’t believe everything you hear online about it, do actual research with actual legitimate sources.

Did you have a side effect from it? Because i had it and it was better. It made me stay longer in bed and cleaner overall. Didn't know it had negative effets
