Does this subreddit have a bad image across reddit? Or is this guy just a troll?

I don't think reddit generally hates us, the most reported sentiments I see are: "They have a lot of good points, but...". The subreddit is fairly large at this point, and at least in the redditsphere we have quite a bit of power to wield. And a lot of people are tired of it, because they don't want to see every discussion turned into a mens rights discussion.

At this moment I'd say that we're hated, but SRS is hated even more. Being hated comes with the territory, but of course we have to consider how we can manage that hate. One way, I think, is to not be as agressive in terms of engaging in debates. We have to avoid being labeled as the people who always have to join in, and say all the predictable stuff. Instead, we should just correct people when they are wrong on factual information.

A bit of humor might also go a long way. Just prefacing your comment with the words: "You called?", before entering a discussion with the guy you linked to will do a lot. Also, we absolutely have to do less brigading. Jumping into threads and arguing our points seems extremely passive-agressive, and we have now reached the point where this kind of behavior is counter-productive.

I'd love to hear other opinions on this.

Who the fuck advocated for "rapist rights"? I've never seen such a thing. I, for one, advocate for innocent until proven guilty, nothing more and nothing less. That is a basic right for every human being facing any accusation. And it damn well should be.

Some people are pretty fervent in pushing their view.

People who don't post here on /r/MensRights very often may still post elsewhere (or send PMs), and claim a connection with MensRights. That hurts the MR reputation, regardless of how well founded it is. I wish Reddit had a feature where it tracked a person's karma and comment karma in relation to specific subreddits...

It is tough to say... But yeah, MensRights has a bad reputation in some circles. Some of it comes from the fact that modern society is very post-modernist and they reinterpret defense of civil rights as defense of criminals.

We do have a pretty bad image primarily because internet feminists spend all their time spreading lies about us. I mean these are the same socially awkward girls who spread rumors about other girls they didn't like in highschool. Same shit. Same assholes. Different toilet.

There are plenty of feminists on reddit who hate us, especially those who post on SRS. One thing that must be kept in mind is that, as reddit grows, popular opinion will become increasingly present (and feminism very mainstream).

Having said that, I don't think that the majority of reddit hates /r/MensRights especially since this sub is growing rather quickly.

This sub has one of the worst images across reddit. Part of it is necessary the same way having defense attorneys is necessary. In as sense, the MRM argues for rapists rights the same way a defense attorney defends a rapist as well.

But the rights the MRM argues for accused rapists - innocent until proven guilty, the right to confront the accuser, etc. - are constitutional rights (or fundamental, depending on your location) which were meant to be enjoyed by everyone. And everyone includes accused rapists.

Hi! Bisexual female here, its my first time in this subreddit. I came over here to check this place out after i saw some drama in a different sub.

To answer your question, yes. It does. I know you guys are passionate about what you believe in, but around the rest of Reddit ya'll come off as angry or whiny. I was checking out some other posts and it seems like you really have to be careful about what you say. I think more objectiveness would do this subreddit a lot of good. And before you call me a man hating feminist, i should mention i believe that all genders can rape all genders and that child custodial inequalities are bullshit.

I also believe that men do not respect women and this subreddit isn't helping.
