Yeah, I had to shop around for like a year to find a doctor willing to do it without asking for a permission slip lol..... I wasn't willing to put money into the wallet of a doctor that would even ask, as if someone else owned my balls.

Yet they have every right to their bodies.

We reverse it:

"Women want to control our bodies."

Yes, but not only do they do. Whether it's paternity or your vasectomy, it's your master, so it's up to her.

Just like she decides your finances and everything else.

Take whatever she says. This will only work for men and not for women.

Look at the sentence:

"Men are violent".

Yet in 70% of cases of domestic violence it is the woman who is violent with the man.

Women cannot get their tubes tied either. Without husbands permission or until a doctor decides that she is past her prime regardless of her choice.

The comparison isnt vasectomy and abortion, it's male vs female sterilization.

Women need permission to get sterilized. So do men. Both are bullshit.

This is quite common actually. I was super surprised when I took my buddy to get his shit snipped last year. Though I wouldn’t say a vasectomy is a 1:1 thing with an abortion, but I still understand the point you’re trying to make.

A women shouldn't need permission for a abortion for the same reason you shouldn't have needed permission to get a vasectomy. Bodily Autonomy. It's why I'm against circumcision. It's why I'm against dress codes that requires you cut your hair or shave. It's why I'm against piercing a babies ears. It's why I'm against requiring a women have permission to get a tubal ligation. I mean, you can't force someone to give blood or donate their organs when they die even though it would save a lot of life's. Sounds wrong but making exceptions to Bodily Autonomy means that you have less physical ownership over your own body. What is truly yours if not your very self?

It's more impactful for men since they have absolutely no fertility control options they can take without a womans permission or knowledge, but the specific example applies to both.

I agree. Having said that, I wonder how much of a gender issue this is given women complain about the same matter.

I imagine informed consent is part of it, with that being for the person choosing the permanent birth control option.

The Devil would be in the details. Are men and women treated differently?

I give myself as an example. At the age of 30i thought I would get the snip. I saw the right people and they asked me to come back in a month after considering it more. I didn't go back. I later had 2 kids, that I was glad to have.

You see they don't want you having this done without her knowing. 25% of men in the UK bring up children that they have no idea aren't theirs. This is why you need both parents in the States for a DNA test, has to be done in a controlled environment so if there are any issues there are professionals around.

If your wife doesn't know then if she cheats and gets pregnant she can't lie to you. Also if you have this done she can't trap you with a child. There's more to it but these are some of the reasons why they want you to get her permission.

I agree. Your balls, your choice. It would be polite and nice to inform your spouse, but ultimatly it is and should be your choice.

Maybe only speak with your dad before it though. And ask what he thinks. Because it is a big choice to do.
