As a woman, if your periods are so bad you are unable to work, there is something wrong and you should see a doctor.

Throwing up, crippling pain, fainting, etc, are NOT NORMAL.

You should be able to be a functional member of society while on your period.

I brought this up with my partner, and she said she didn't know how to make something like that "fair," but that there were times when she definitely could have used it.

I said about 1 in 5 women experience symptoms severe enough to impact their daily activities. Meaning 4 out of 5 have no problem whatsoever aside from it being mildly inconvenient. How is that different from many other chronic condition that causes issues?

She had nothing.

Didn't even have to bring up the feminist position saying they didn't need special treatment to compete with men.

I'm curious, does that include all women, including females who do not have periods? E.g. post-menopausal women, women who have had hysterectomies, transmen who no longer get periods because of HRT or hysterectomies, etc.? Why should every female get period leave, even though not every female gets periods, let alone ones bad enough to be debilitating?

From what I understand, periods so bad that a woman can't even function is relatively rare. And I know of all the women I've worked with, they haven't all mysteriously called off from work every month

Regardless, the way I see it, if someone is not physically capable of doing a certain job for whatever reason, then that job isn't for that person. A person's sex shouldn't have anything to do with it, nor should the particulars in why a person isn't capable of the job. It's not justice that a woman can take so much time off because she's a woman

But a man with a physical condition where he's calling off from work at least a few days 10 times a year would be fired. Or at least wouldn't be paid for the times he calls off. If a man suffered from some kind of chronic pain, he'd be expected to get a different job where that pain wouldn't be as much of an issue, or would be expected to do something to manage it (e.g. take pain relievers). He wouldn't be expected to be supported by his employer for not working

You can't change your gender, tramsgenders will always remain what they were born as because of chromosomes. They can't get periods, so why do they get period leave?

Pretty sure when females are in close proximity to each other for extended periods, their periods start to sync up. So you're going to have multiple women calling out around the same time every month....

Just close the store for an entire week. Give up 1/4the of your business.

Cause who each is going to pick up the slack and do these jobs for these women? Men? Nah. There's no way society would burden men by having them do more work than their female counterparts. Something like that may result in men out earning women. Can't have that.

No. I'm sorry, but if you dont have a uterus, you don't have a menstrual cycle. I'm all for giving women a day-or-two off once a month, but transgendered people do not have the same medical requirements.
