I agree, I think if a man finds out a woman he slept with is pregnant and he tells her during the pregnancy he doesn’t want to be a father, he shouldn’t have any obligation to the child.

If abortion is accessible in the area and a woman decides not to get one knowing the man doesn’t want to be a father than she should face the consequences of not getting the abortion which is single parenthood. no one should be forced into parenthood, I couldn’t imagine being a childfree man and forced to pay for the rest of my life because I had sex.

Make sure y’all are wearing condoms or get a vasectomy when sleeping with someone, some women are assholes and lie about being on birth control or sterilization

Karen DeCrow was instrumental in getting abortion rights passed for women in the US. Right after they won that court case for abortion rights, she turned around and argued that men should not be responsible for children that they don't want.

This is in fact what equality looks like. And the fact that men do not have this right is an example of institutional discrimination and oppression.

One aspect of equality between women and men is economics. Anatomy has determined that only women have the right to choose natural parenthood.

The courts have properly determined that a man should neither be able to force a woman to have an abortion nor to prevent her from having one, should she so choose. Justice therefore dictates that if a woman makes a unilateral decision to bring pregnancy to term, and the biological father does not, and cannot, share in this decision, he should not be liable for 21 years of support. Or, put another way, autonomous women making independent decisions about their lives should not expect men to finance their choice.

There's one simple answer/response to this question, on a societal/macro level...

If/when you want the society you live in to make abortion legal (for whatever reason), then all of that society gets to make that choice, including those that are biologically incapable of aborting.

If women’s partial responsibility for pregnancy does not obligate them to support a fetus, then men’s partial responsibility for pregnancy does not obligate them to support a resulting child.

I had an abortion because he didnt want a baby. He was married and I could have just carried on with the pregnancy and force him to pay child support. That would have been wrong...no one should be forced to pay for a child they dont want. I know it was my body but he was the dad and he should have the choice too and not be forced to pay if he doesnt want the baby. It was not easy for me but it was the correct thing to do.

Women have post birth ways out of responsibility as well.

Women have the option of dropping an infant at a hospital or fire station and walking away with no responsibilities, and claiming not to know who the father is and putting the baby up for adoption. Men, and even raped preteen boys, have no out of their parental responsibilities unless both the father and child reside in Nevada.

Yep, what you're proposing is sometimes called a "paper abortion" and it's something a lot of the guys here support as a way to make things as equal as possible, without denying women any rights.

The whole bodily autonomy thing seems all great, until you ask why sperm isn't considered to be part of a man's body. And if it is part of his body, why doesn't he get to decide on when it is used for reproduction.

Abortion is always wrong. Men should make sure woman is on BCP or the man should wear condom. A pill is easy to take, what is going on with irresponsible people?

That's not equity. There can be no equity between men and women when it comes to reproductive rights, because their roles are so vastly different. Both sexes are required to pay to support children that they abandon. You don't hear about women paying child support as often, but it does happen.
