Start off, moral of the story is fight for what is right.

A few years ago when I was home with my girlfriend, we heard a noise from the upstairs apt. Its tenant was a friend of ours, he was not home, and someone was in his apt. I went up to check and his girlfriend was home (weird for anyone to be there without him) After I knocked on the door, she opened it up and said he was not home. I left and went on my way.

The week goes on and the 4 of us were talking about movies on the next weekend and maybe dinner, couples night out in town.

Come Friday him and her got into a fight, he asked her why she was acting so crazy. She said I touched her and tried things. Funny thing is, he knew right away she was making it up.

The next day at work, I get arrested by 2 cops and then tossed in the tank, finger printed, interrogated, told I would have to do a lie detector test etc. The cops were bent on the idea I was guilty, and that she was innocent.

I had evidence they would not accept. I dont delete text messages from my phone. I had a week of texts from her asking and planning about us all hanging out over the weekend. The cops would not even look at it. I went after the officer looking into it all to take it, he would not. I then went after his supervisor. He told me the officer does not have to take any evidence into consideration unless he wanted too. I went after the detachment supervisor, he told me the same thing. I went then to the province head cop, He told me the same thing again. No one would take the evidence. While I had him on the phone I told him one final thing "If you dont take this evidence, I will give it to CBC and let them broadcast the whole thing" At this point he told me to bring in a CD with screenshots on it.

A few weeks later I got a call back, the charges were dropped because in the eyes of the RCMP "If I had perpetrated the crime, the victim would never have been talking to me and trying to plan for a bunch of us to hang out together" I was free and clear.

The thing is it is not over yet, there is more to the story. I found out the girl who accused me of attempted rape had claimed the same thing on 3 other guys in the 18 months before she tried it on me. Every time she did it was eventually tossed out, but always handled by the same RCMP officer.

Moral of the story is if someone tries to claim you did something like this, and your innocent, fight it as hard as you can.
