The current round of internships is open internationally to women (cis and trans), trans men, and genderqueer people. Additionally, it's open to residents and nationals of the United States of any gender who are Black/African American, Hispanic/Latin@, American Indian, Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian, or Pacific Islander. We are planning to expand the program to more participants from underrepresented backgrounds in the future.

It would be easier to state who is excluded: straight white men. Disgusting.

When posting and reading this stuff, keep in mind the problem this represents. The problem IS NOT the discrimination against men, but the double standard. If positive discrimination in this manner is reasonable, then we should also see positive discrimination in this manner in other fields. We should see positive discrimination for men in teaching and nursing.

The issue is not discrimination against men, but that a similar "Women will not be considered for this position" for teaching or nursing jobs would be met with a shit storm of epic proportions.
