get in touch with your local politicians, in person, on the phone, through email, it doesn't really matter. don't be surprised if you find out they've never even considered the possibility that any man may not be thankful he was circumcised. do what you can to educate them.

as for educating the general public, there are many things you can do locally, nationally, or globally. arrange protests. run education booths at local events. leave cards and stickers where others will find them. do searches on social media and respond to everything you can. try to get a following on social media and make your own educational posts.

This shows that a lot of mothers are becoming informed about the possible negatives that they were never told about. The only way mothers can be made aware of this, is if the doctors have to talk about the lost functions of the foreskin and that it isn't, "Just a flap of skin.", as well as talk about the repercussions of a botched circumcision. Circumcision will not be made illegal. The world doesn't really care about men and the people who use their heads and research real pros and cons of the procedure are too few to do anything. Also if you tell the truth to circumcision advocates they will react violently or be in active denial regardless of proof.

There's a bunch of groups you have to work on.

Everyday people: Currently it is normalized and not seen as a big deal. It will be on us to change the perspective by comparing it to female version and just how bizarre and barbaric the practice is.
Medical professions: It is pushed by some medical professions and some well known organizations (WHO) claim the benefits outweigh the risks. There's an obvious flaws in their logic, but they won't change their view until more studies are done that actually look into the impact as well as question the moral efficacy of performing a surgery on children instead of other, less invasive, methods to control the related diseases.
Religious: There's no question the religious have heavy pull in politics. Good luck convincing them to make part of their practice illegal. The only way to get a politician to go against them is if the medical community fully backs it (see the problems with religious exemptions with vaccines).

The first one can be done over time and there's already a small shift happening with people starting to refuse. The other two are the major barriers standing in the way of making it illegal and I don't see them changing anytime soon. You can debate with a politician and send them facts and arguments as much as you want. A politician speaking up about hinting they may make it illegal would be political suicide until they have more backing from the medical community at the very least.

Keep raising awareness, get people to realise that there's no need to cut a baby. Keep highlighting the falsehoods of "medical benefits" - it's literally just about aesthetics and control, sometimes even spite

It’s women who still want it and push for it. Of all my friend that I know that circumcised their kids it was the women who pushed for it. And got very defensive when questioned. I’ve had lash outs from these women when I questioned their reasoning for this archaic, grotesque procedure. So basically you gotta get the women on board.

I think we will see protests from Jewish and Muslim communities and the radical left will jump on it straight away to hijack the issue. I think we should make circumcision illegal for under 18 and after that an adult can make an educated decision if they wish to be circumcised.

I don't think genital mutilation of boys will be made illegal. The best we can hope for is that science will create a way to fix the damage that's done. A lot of men who were cut end up cutting their sons because they had their autonomy taken away, and upon becoming fathers, they find themselves in a position of power. Letting their sons remain intact would be an admission that they themselves are broken, that their own parents failed them, so they continue the cycle and call it "tradition". It's the fact that a circumcised penis can't (currently) be fixed that lets a lot of men simply accept what was done to them, and say things like "I'm glad my parents cut me". You're not glad, there's just nothing you can do about it.

Making it across the board illegal I'm against. Let men do with their own bodies as they will. If they want one and are old enough to consent to it, then I say who cares?

Circumcision shouldn't be illegal, but it should only be allowed once the person is 18 and can make the decision for themselves, because it can cause some medical issues and be just easier overall if they have it.

Unfortunately, this steps onto the toes of religious liberties and practices which are protected.

The easiest thing would be to phase it out culturally. Not circumcize your kids, let your friends know about it. Raise awareness. Etc.

But legally, there isn't much you can do.

For the past few years a new laser circumcision procedure is an option.
It almost negates ANY negative 'side effects' and does far less damage to the tissue. Age has no bearing on it.
