Personally, I don’t see how we can discuss equal rights for men without discussing where unequal rights come from and what the barriers to equality are, feminism being central to both those.

That said, I agree it’s great to talk about a variety of issues as well as new issues and I do think we see that here as well. Already today there have been posts on a judge’s ruling on title ix cases, one country’s policy on paternity testing, another country wanting to pass laws impacting men in dating apps. I think these are all new pieces of news very relevant to men’s rights.

If you have other relevant topics, please feel free to post them!

OP assumes that these topics are old hat to everyone here. The reason some issues get perpetually repeated is because they're new to the person repeating them. They haven't spent months or years perusing this subreddit.

Talking about Men's Rights without talking about Feminism is like talking about the war in Ukraine without talking about Russia.

But to answer your second question: right now. You want to start some more positive conversations here? Great! Go for it! There's nothing stopping you from starting those topics.

In my opinion "What can men do to be the best version of themselves?" is a gender neutral topic. Self improvement is not men specific and there are other subs for that. That is why I believe we don't see many such discussions here.

The topics you list are really important, and are fundamental to the issues regarding Men's Rights. They impact the most men, the most severely, often with life-changing consequences.

One of the things I point out rarely, is that it's analogous to talking about "lets cure cancer!" - okay, great, fine, extremely unreasonable if you have a clue about how cancer works, but that's not the point.

The point is that you can't talk about curing cancer without using the word cancer. Saying "disease" would assume all kinds of other diseases that aren't cancer, or "syndrome" would similarly apply to all kinds of things that aren't cancer, you get the point.

Applying this analogy, we can't really talk about men's rights without identifying where a significant source of the issues stem from - Feminism, and how Feminism has bent legislative and judicial systems in their/women's favor.

As a more extended example, wanna talk about child custody? Good luck not eventually sourcing "the problem" to Feminists convincing courts that women/mothers give better child care, and bending the general default position of those courts to give women/mothers primary custody.

While I agree, I sometimes tire of all the ant-feminist rhetoric, I do not think we should change this subreddit. To be clear, I'm not a feminist. I'm also not an anti-feminist. I disagree with feminists only where it impacts men's rights. I am egalitarian to the core.

I do not want to see this sub diverge from it's central purpose: men's rights. All of those posts that you are suggesting are not directly related to men's rights. These are examples topics that are men's rights issues.

Education Gap

Sentencing Gap

Longevity Gap

Empathy Gap

Suicide Gap

Support for male victims of IPV/DV

Lack of due process in title IX

Systemic misandry

Male reproductive rights

Conscription

We can discuss all of this and talk about feminism a lot less.

Feminism is very involved with (re)shaping legal regulations and social attitudes regarding everything to do with the sexes. That makes it (often sadly) relevant to Men's Rights.

When can we start making posts like:

"How are men today?"

"What can men do to be the best version of themselves?"

"Best life advice for young men?"

Your suggested topics on the other hand are (sorry to say) not really relevant to the topic of Men's Rights.

I find it interesting that you would expect the topics you mentioned in a sub with this mission statement. Would be so kind to explain why that is? I'm genuinely currious (partly because I am a moderator).

It's just you and the trolls. People that are motivated to help men in other ways just go out and do it, they don't come on here complaining like this.

If you want to help men in your own way feel free to do it. After you have done some stuff feel free to come back and tell us all that you've accomplished.

I see what you mean. While it is important to talk about the role modern feminism plays in men's rights, it would be nice to see some posts focused on other areas of men's rights, too.

Another subreddit I like to follow is daddit. Specific to dads, but it's nice seeing men support each other (there are some women like me that bounce in and give support to dads too) and it is nice to read about some healthy happy families. Of course, I would like to see more positive posts from non-dads as well. Are there subreddits for men to talk about their goals, everyday life, dreams, mental health? Oh, I do watch HealthyGamerGG and I think he has a subreddit.

If you wonder why I am in so many male spaces, it helps me understand y'all better, including my husband, and I feel like since I started hanging out in these spaces, it's been easier to understand him and we get along super well.

Ofc, it's ok to keep posting about feminism, but I think there is more to men's rights than that juxtaposition. A variety of posts would be insightful for all.
