Oh, look, another defense of a body shaming joke at the expense of men.

I get what Tinder was trying to do here, but they failed miserably at reaching the audience they intended to.

Something actually targeting women would actually reach them more.

Instead of making people more open minded about the impossible physical standards they require, they just managed to trigger a lot of people who have their own issues with their body...

If they want to reduce people swiping away people who don't conform to ideal body standards, they should just remove all these body identificators altogether... Boom, then no one can pre-emptively decline anyone based on them, because they actually have to at least engage in a conversation to find these things out...

They billed it as an April Fool's joke, but posted it on March 29, three days before April Fool's Day. Sounds like they tried backpedaling after backlash.

The height shaming is so fucked up. There is very little you can do about your height, but ya know it is a little more in your hands whether your obese or not. So let's judge men on something they have no control over, but how dare they call us out for something we could actually do something about.
