Considering its a term derived from someone's appearance, i find it rather ironic that it is constantly used to define people whose appearance is unknown. Its petty name calling based on assumptions that someone who they disagree with must also be ugly as fuck.

The narrative also shifted quite a bit. There were attempts in the mainstream media trying to potray "incels" as victims, give them back their humanity and show their struggle. But then it turned back to "it's all their fault, they're the oppressors like all men, they should be victimized even more" all thanks to feminists online who can't stand the discussion being centered on men's issues, no matter how shallow and short-lived the discussion was. Women need to be the only perpetual victims and their struggles the only struggles visible.

You're missing the intent behind their words. Number one lesson about women: always listen to their actions far more than their words. It's an attempt to shame and insult... if you Google "common manipulation tactics", you'll quickly find those very examples, and the why behind their uses.

It's not sexual harassment. It's disrespectful. But not harassment. But, once you have figured out what their intentions are, you'll realize how to overcome them, and then rise above their attempts, should you choose.

Making sense of those that use words like "incel" is a waste of time. It's just another generic insult they use amongst another list of buzzwords. They're not professional psychologists, they can't just assess who and who isn't an incel by having a disagreement with someone online.

I grew up with 2 sisters. When they argue, they lie, they scheme, they use words that don't relate to you what so ever.

Thoughts? Well, who cares what they say or think. People like that already live a terrible life because of how unaware they are of how much normal people hate them.

Just do what they're incapable of doing, use logic against them.

Women will use any trick in the book to nudge their way further to what they call "taking down the patriarchy" (it still makes me want to vomit to this day lol). At least we haven't heard "mansplaining" for a while. They will move from incel to the next buzzword soon enough when they come to the realisation that their previous childish insults aren't working.

I don't give them the satisfaction. When I have a debate (I always win by the way, as soon as they block you, you won) with feminists. When they call you incel, ignore it and stay true to your argument and don't let them divert you away from it. Let them have a tantrum while keeping a calm logical argument. That usually makes them go off the rails, they want a rise out of us by throwing insults etc (if they don't get it, they go full lunatic).

Another one is when they say: "stop killing us" etc. Don't react to it. Stay on topic, let them bounce around like emotional head cases. We need to actually make these feminists look like fools. Using logic and staying calm is the best way to do that.

The issue with anyone who uses "incel," whether as a self-descriptor or an insult, is essentially placing the value of an individual entirely on their sexual promiscuity. Incels who describe themselves as incels are essentially saying "Sex is the only thing that matters to me, therefore I consider myself to be higher value the more sex I have." Feminists who use it as an insult are basically saying "I'm judging you based on my perception of how much sex you have," which is sexual objectification and inherently contradictory to feminist ideology.

Either way, adopting the mindset of more sex = higher value is stupid. Your value is determined by you and you only.

I've always been icked by people using the word incel, true incels who genuinely can't find a mate to save their life are extremely rare and usually only really applies to people with disabilities. Like a paraplegic etc. In the end the word is only being a stray insult to disabled people. It also gives the implication that if you get laid it validates your sexism! It's a poorly used word with many foul implications.

I think that calling someone an incel could be considered sexual harassment based on the context, but it is not in and of itself sexual harassment. I've never heard calling someone a "spinster" or "prude" or "old maid" or "frigid" defined as sexual harassment regardless of context. (Certainly can be, depending what was said before or after.)

Also, what distinguishes an incel from, say, a virgin or maybe a less-experienced guy or someone who is "unlucky with love" is that, by definition, an incel blames women and society for his inability to have relationships. It's less about how much sex someone has had, it's his attitude about it and mindset around it.

The most UNWISE thing men have done in recent years, was to willingly label themselves ‘incel’, making that term part of their identity…and not realise that a term revolving around issues in ‘getting sex’…would be weaponised against them...you give feminists (and the wider society) an 'own goal' here to characterise you as ‘entitled’ and ‘disordered’...some governments characterise men as potential terrorists’ related to that word…huge misstep by men here.

Do you even understand where the term incel came from?

“It is intended to sexually harass as a put down for men”

Involuntary Celibacy was used as a label for a community of lonely people who were unable to find sexual partners. Not just men, not just women.

The person that actually came up with the term involuntary celibacy was female and used it to describe her own experience of not having sex or being in a relationship.

The negative associations with the terms involuntary celibacy/incel have come from the actions of those within this community/online subculture. When originally spoken, it didn’t have a negative, violent association. However this has been labelled as negative by feminists because of the hate women rhetoric in online forums. For example, Jake Davison was branded an incel due to being involved in this community, but he was also associated with participating in misgoyny. Or, Elliot Roger who also was apart of this community, and then released a video: ‘involuntary celibacy’ before committing murder.

The term has now been re-established by men, to describe their own online subculture.

you can’t be serious. “incel” is a sociocultural term that is used to describe a specific online subculture of men who blame women for their lack of sex and often express that through misogyny. its not about shaming men for not having sex, it’s about calling out the toxic and entitled behaviour from them. feminists do oppose sexual harassment, this is common knowledge. it’s telling that you act like being called an incel is worse than the harassment and dehumanisation lots of women face daily from that same group. if being called an incel really cuts that deep, maybe ask yourself why instead of writing bs like this
