Hey guys (and gals?),

I watched a YouTube video a while back about women in the workforce needing a more even playing field (specifically in nice blue collar jobs, lol go figure) and was just wondering about the topic they where talking about.

I'll run you down on the scenario and my question.

Let's say we have a board of directors that are composed of all men and one woman (Rolls Royce, they talked about this in the video). During the video, these women called for a change for more women in these types of jobs.

But here is what I don't get. If you have a man that is more qualified than a woman applying for a position, what is the problem? If an employer was to hire a woman with less qualifications over a man with more qualifications, isn't that essentially sexism? They are denying employment just because he is a man.

(There is more to hiring than qualifications and a nice education. I'm just saying that if an employer denied you employment to a job just because you're a man and accepted the less idle candidate (woman), isn't that sexist?)

It seems kind of bogus to me and seems like an excuse to make up for the gap between competition and qualifications between men and women (IN PARTICULAR CASES)

Now, I'm not saying all men are more qualified than women, I'm just talking about this particular scenario about applying for jobs. I could care less if you are a man, woman, or transgender. I support everyone, but I always like to see fairness.

I REPEAT. MEN ARE NOT SUPERIOR TO WOMEN, I AM TALKING ABOUT SPECIFIC SCENARIOS

Edit: When I went over the scenario with the man having more "qualifications" than the woman, I wanted you to realize that the employer wanted to hire the man, but was not allowed to. (Just because he is a man.)
