Keep in mind, though, that Atheism+ isn't an attempt to exclude people from the larger skeptical movement. Not at all. Not divisive or anything. If you don't like atheism+ don't join it, right? No biggy. You won't be drummed out your positions if you disagree with them... right?

Fuck this. Feminists are cancer; they wait for other people to build things and then march in and infect everything with their stupidity.

I am an atheist, skeptic and rationalist and I am not a feminist. It's nothing short of insidious how these cunts are trying to insinuate themselves into a community that I love. I don't want to see the day when the skeptic/atheist community ends up like /r/anarchism.

Why succumb to pressure? I never got that. Let them screech and piss and moan. Give them enough rope and they'll eventually hang themselves. All this tells me is he lacks the intestinal fortitude to hold a leadership position, which sadly throws into question the value of his contributions.

tl;dr - he can't take the heat so he's getting out of the kitchen.

To be honest the whole thing was a circus and not just because he wrote on AvFM. He had been contributing to much of the drama around the whole atheismplus nonsense (along with the feminists). That is definitely what the skeptic community doesn't need at the moment. It needs to get back to focussing on challenging religious ideologues and other charlatans, not bickering over a feminist tantrum.

I'm sure Justin Vacula is a good guy. But he isn't what the skeptics need right now.
