Let's discuss what tissue is appropriate to remove from day-old girl's genitals without adequate anesthesia.

We don't have to promote a form of female genital mutilation equivalent to the FGM promoted in other cultures, but for fairness sake we should promote one equivalent to male genital mutilation in our own. (And there most definitely is an equivalent procedure as the tissues arise from the same structures in utero.)
