Consider the facts. According to the supreme court, the government can make laws that discriminate based on gender as long as it serves a valid government interest.

For examples :This is why women have their parental rights at birth while the law makes unwed men jump through hoops for theirs, they argue that women bear the brunt of pregnancy and men don't therefore making men do extra shit for their rights is equivalent to the hardship of being pregnant

And this is why a law in California that criminalized only males for having underage sex was allowed to stand, they argued that the law wasn't based on steelreotypes about male aggression but rather the government interest in reducing teen pregnancy, they argued that being a pregnant teen is a deterrent so criminalizing only males wasn't a denial of equal protection. You get the picture. Family courts are allowed to discriminate against males so long as it serves a legitimate government purpose...

If a succesful, safe male birth control pill was released tomorrow, it would give all sexuality active males COMPLETE control over who they impregnate.

No more unwed fathers, no more babies for the adoption industry,

The already declining birthrate will plummet even more rapidy, men will never be "trapped" by women, less family court cases, less incarcerated individuals for prison labor (domestic violence and child support fuels those industries) you get the picture.

The government is going to freak out when this happens and if you think female contraceptives are controversial? Ha!!! Wait until that male pill is released. I bet they'll ban it nearly immediately and the Supreme court will uphold the ban on the basis that the government has a legitimate interest in keeping the birth rate up.

I came to this conclusion after really looking into many court cases where the Supreme Court allowed blatantly sexist legislation to stand.
