Not a parent yet, but if I ever have a son (or a daughter for that matter) he will be remarkably well versed in any and all forms of contraception that are available to him. Having a kid with the wrong person can absolutely ruin your life.

I absolutely support male contraceptive..

But the reason men do not have a viable hormonal contraceptive has more to do with biology than lack of research...

Women's reproductive system comes with a natural off-switch. (Pregnancy).. The hormonal pills just mimick a natural pregnancy, so ovulation doesn't happen.

Men's reproductive system doesn't have an off-switch. The male hormonal contraceptives basically is equivalent of 'throwing a spanner into a running engine, hoping that it stops it with least possible damage.'

The obvious problem is that, we have not been able to find a 'spanner' that does an acceptable amount of damage.

Non-hormonal methods work for men well. But they need to be implemented surgically.

Most are permanent or semi-permanent methods...

Although newer methods have been developed (like gelatin plug)... But they aren't very popular.
Newer methods often compete with more efficient and cheap female contraceptive methods.

Lack of funding is certainly is an issue. But even with good funding.. It won't be easy to develop a male contraceptive that is both effective as well as cheap, like female contraceptives..

if you read any basic gender studies 101 textbook or any piece of feminist work you'll find it's wildly different from your imagination. None of your options are indicative of reality. Men and women should (and do) have access to all known safe and effective forms of contraceptive. It's not a matter of access, it's a matter of research and development. Yes society is gynocentric leading to more research for them, but there's also the fact for women, contraception can mean many things from convincing the body it is pregnant so it doesn't release an egg to blocking implantation. Disrupting sperm production, a process that goes nonstop for 70+years, is a little harder to figure out without excessive side effects. To suggest blaming some social for technical difficulties that make female contraceptives safer and more effective is almost as bad as feminists who blame Men for women being the sex that gets pregnant (yes, they exist. I even met one who thinks pregnancy is a male plot to kill their wives) .

I’m not too familiar with the idea but I have heard some things about men’s contraception. What I’ve heard though has all been negative. It’s all been about leading to infertility, or at least fertility issues. Personally I’m against contraception for men just because it hasn’t been studied enough. I’m also against forcing men, or saying all men should, get a vasectomy by a certain age. Because while it may be reversible, the longer you go with having a vasectomy the harder it is to reverse and the higher the chances of the effects being permanent

My view on this is the same as my view on contraception for women: Condoms are sold everywhere and are cheap.

Despite downvoting my personal views like some feminazis, I am glad to see that when prompted with a concrete issue we can all agree on something regardless of ideology - most of you here support men's contraception! <3
